What a vocal performance from Morrissey. I am of the opinion that Strangeways was the album where he really started to understand how to sing and knew where he could take his voice. I remember being in the control room with the rest of the band as he sang and we were speechless.

I adore Ghosts by Japan. Tin Drum is a brilliant album. I remember as a young recording engineer enthusing with Robert Smith from the Cure about it who was also a huge fan! #ogwt

The harmony vocal was created by Morrissey’s vocal through a studio effect called a Harmonizer. Much hilarity would be gained by putting it on his vocal whilst he tried to talk to us in the control room, making him sound like a smurf. We had fun you know…! #TQID

#Beetlebum I knew as soon as we started recording this track that we were on to something special. Graham’s off-beat intro with the delay playing an integral part of the rhythm was genius and the languid lazy groove supplied by Dave and Alex was spot on #TimsTwitterListeningParty
