Hi, I'm Luna, your shitposter from outer space! Join me in my adventures to find out whether or not it would be fucked up if there were two guys on the moon and one of them killed the other with a rock!
Links below!! 🌙
god remember when you heard the studio behind the emoji movie was making a spider-man movie and that it’d be adapted from one of the most bloated comic events spidey has ever been apart of
and then the trailer dropped and you saw this
i feel like not enough people talk about how kevin conroy, the definitive voice of batman, is a gay man who has talked very openly about what it was like to live through the AIDS crisis as a gay man and how that shaped his non-batman career
I promise you there are more than 3 good Godzilla movies. '54, Shin, and Minus one are all great but don't be closed minded to the entire rest of the franchise. Such a disservice to dozens of great films that also have interesting things to say and contribute.
So for no real reason at all, let's talk about a comic creator who I feel gets overlooked too often by a lot of younger comic book fans, Larry Hama. He's really well known for one big thing, but let's talk about his other stuff first!
“spider-man is jewish”, i say into the mic.
the crowd boos. i begin to walk off in shame, when a voice speaks & commands silence from the room.
"she's right," they say. i look for the owner of the voices. there in the 3rd row stands: peter parker himself
honestly the shit with ms marvel continues to be utterly depressing. i love the comic and I love the character. the internalized racism aspect of her origin is something that deeply resonates with a lot of my friends and it sucks to see it sanitized from the MCU
reminder that not only does
@NewtypeHQ
use AI art in their advertising, they also sponsor alt-right YouTubers and have a history of baselessly attacking other stores. buy your Gundam from literally anywhere else!
@insomniacgames
here’s a good way to do charity.
Pay hard working modders who are struggling to get into the industry for their mods in your own game. (Kinda like Bethesda)
Of course; Mods would have to go thru approval and testing first.
But you can stop hearing us complain
might be corny but I gotta go with seeing Endgame on opening night. the noise the entire theater made when Tony got the stones was something I don’t think I’ll ever forget
luna's cool space facts!!!!
if you could put the universe into a tube, you’d end up with a very long tube extending twice the size of the universe.......
oh sure when hasbro crowdfunds a sentinel its "really cool" and "for your collection" but when i do it its "a war crime" and "a threat to all mutant kind"
tony stark in the first iron man movie: i have created weapons that have taken countless innocent lives and i must destroy them by any means possible. this is how i atone.
tony stark in ffh: dude lmao what if i made drones that could kill anyone at any time for any reason
Anyway, Larry Hama kicks ass and his comics kick ass. He's a hugely important figure for Asian-American representation in comic books, and helped create a cultural phenomenon which in turn made another cultural phenomenon happen.
In short, we stan.
why does iron man’s face look like he’s at thanksgiving with his family but his uncle just said something pretty racist and he’s not sure if he should say something since the conversation has already moved on and he doesn’t want to be known as “that guy” who ruined thanksgiving
in the 4th rebuild of evangelion movie theyre gonna reveal the 14 year time gap was only 2 hours and they set up the whole thing while shinji was napping as a prank
For those who don’t understand the significance of Metroid Dread, this is a game that’s been rumored to exist for about 20 years. It was supposed to come out for the DS but never did. Seeing it like, announced as a real thing is so surreal.
god i love superman. such a good character. yeah sure the dude can fly and yeet asteroids like softballs but a good superman story makes you feel good on the inside and inspires you to help others. that’s what superman is about I think.
i love superman
epic win! marvel just announced they'll be snatching stan lee's soul away from eternal peace and bliss so they can make him say funny zingers in their shitty movies!
ignoring jessica drew's big milf ass, holy shit it's big ronnie! in a comic that isnt about me! girl's making her way up in the universe im so proud <3
imagine being a famous comic book artist with a legion of loyal fans and yet you spend your days picking fights with teenagers on the internet who don't like your art
Working in comics is so cool because you get to write characters you don’t own in storylines you have no control over and if you’re really lucky they’ll get made into a billion dollar movie you’ll never see a cent from
this comic is only like 10 years old but i love how each three of these panels contains a reference completely unrecognizable to anyone under the age of 25
I’m partnering with
@VoiceverseNFT
to explore ways where together we might bring new tools to new creators to make new things, and allow everyone a chance to own & invest in the IP’s they create.
We all have a story to tell.
You can hate.
Or you can create.
What’ll it be?
the year is 2045. the world is a smoldering crater. chip zdarsky and ryan stegman are beating the shit out of each other like Snake and Ocelot in MGS4. people still think Gwenpool is Gwen Stacy.
hey what if the snyder cut comes out and its hot ass garbage and then zack snyder goes on twitter and is like "yeah they made me do some changes to it and my original plan was much better :\\\" and we have to go through all of this again
Larry has been doing comics since he he was in high school in the sixties. After he graduated, he served two years in Vietnam, which heavily influenced his later works. Afterwords he worked with both DC and Marvel, his most notable work being some early issues of Iron Fist.
absolutely fucked up how the cast and crew of into the spider-verse ruined cinema forever by making the best movie of all time. what’s even the point of making movies anymore. it’s not gonna get better than that.
if i could write x-men comics, emma frost would be wearing a strap-on at all times. big plastic dick swinging in the breeze. none of the other characters would comment on it that’s just how things are now
Characters like Scarlett, Lady Jaye, and the Baroness were written as vital parts of their teams, and not treated like secretaries or damsels in distress. They all proved to be extremely popular too, thanks mostly due to Larry's writing.
hey remember in the first spidey movie when the green goblin had his hands around JJJ’s throat and demanded to know who took pictures of spidey and Jameson’s first instinct was to lie and say they came in through the mail
that was good I liked that
After dabbling in acting, by 1980 he was settled in as an editor and writer for Marvel. It was around this time that Hasbro was working on reviving one of their 1960's toylines for the 80's, and Larry found himself working on the thing he became most famous for:
G.I. Joe.
me: i didn’t really like the last jedi
some dude with a pepe avatar on the internet: the last jedi SUCKED
me: you know what the last jedi was good actually fuck you
batman who laughs: *gets his shit kicked in* haha you fool. you absolute buffoon. getting my shit kicked in was part of my master plan. this is all according to keikaku. im so smart.
For G.I. Joe, Larry drew upon his time in the military, his passion for martial arts dating back to his childhood, and his heritage. He created the concept of an elite team of commandos fighting against the international terrorist organization Cobra. Also there's ninjas.
