Before auditioning for drama school I thought Shakespeare had to be in a posh accent and was only for posh actors. Now I’m playing Bottom and doing my own accent in something I’m so bloody proud of. Come a long way in a short time x

Will we sing, and bless this place."
Wishing luck to the utterly magical company of A Midsummer Night’s Dream ahead of their opening night

If anyone wants any drama school audition advice (totally free ofc) please feel free to message me! It took me six times (whole bunch of things I wish I didn’t do!). Particularly looking to help WC actors from up north but I’ll help anyone!! 😊😊
After what’s been a turbulent year in the acting world to say the least... I am delighted to have signed with
@ECAagency
Looking forward to a new year with new opportunities!
I got into Drama School today people. A massive thank you to
@Mikejbal
@d_kirkbride1
and
@ExcellentAuds
. Everyone who’s supported me on this thing, major love to you all. Yo Adrian, I did it ❤️ AIP.
My old English teacher told my entire class she thought I was on drugs because my handwriting was bad and my essays were crazy. Also told me I stood no chance of getting into drama school. Only went and got an A in my exam tho hehehe. Drama School still pending 😉 AIP
A brilliant and wonderful actor said to me once - “This industry is about knocking on doors until people don’t stop knocking on yours.” And you better believe I’m not gonna stop until that happens.
Actor/Theatre Twitter!! I am raising money for my NYT course this summer. Even if you can’t donate, if you could just share this link it would mean the bleeding world to me. Big love to you all who’ve helped me so far ❤️

I once had an elderly VERY middle class lady in a drama school audition tell me my voice was too aggressive. The beauty is she got the sack for bullying some years later. Funny innit?
Most of theatre (dominated by the middle/upper classes) find working class communication styles too challenging. So many stories of friends/family leaving jobs/having hard experiences due to being found as “too direct” etc. Tiring.
I’ve always struggled with Dance. However since coming to drama school I’ve gotten so much better and I am very bloody proud of myself. Ya boy has the hips 🙌🏻
A year and a half ago I was learning lines for a pantomime while working on the trollies at Sainsbury’s- in September I’m going to one of the best drama schools in the world. I’m so bloody proud of myself man.
LAMDA, RADA, ASDA as far as I’m concerned. Doesn’t matter where you go; if you graft and work hard that’s the most important thing. So many mint schools around the country and whatever is talented about you - it never leaves you. Drama school is just bling on top of that!
A THREAD ON DRAMA SCHOOLS: I walked into a shop where some girls behind the counter were discussing applying for drama school and saying definitively that RADA and LAMDA are the best drama schools in the country. It made me think… best for what?
Never been a gym lad - ever. But for the past month and a half I’ve been going four or five times a week and totally caught the bug. Honestly? I feel like a new man. Proud of myself beyond belief ❤️
Third year is coming baby!
Thank you to the big man Andy Brown Photography and of course the biggest thank you to the lads
@justaddmilkjam
. Major big ups to you both ❤️
Dear England was absolutely majestic. So many people in that room had never been to the theatre and came because they were football fans. I’ll be talking about that play for a very long time ❤️🏴
📢 Casting news! Michelle Visage and Charlotte Riley join the supporting cast of Smoggie Queens!
The new comedy also features Bill Fellows, Steph McGovern, Lauryn Redding, Peter McPherson, Neil Grainger, and Michael Mather 👀

ACTOR TWITTER! I’m looking to connect with people who’ve had to self fund foundation years at drama school/a year of study and want to know how you all managed it and where to find the best grants/best ways of funding yourself? Pls DM me or comment below 👏🏻
Jodie Comer: "To any kids who haven't been to drama school, who can't afford to go, have been rejected - don't let anyone tell you it's impossible."
There are so few working class actors breaking into the industry, she is a ray of hope and a much needed role model. Thank you ❤

It’s the little things. Just realised this Christmas will be the first in six years I’m not working in a supermarket; which means no more of the same five Xmas songs on repeat all day ❤️
One of the major positives about the corona virus means we won’t get the annual results day tweet from Jeremy Clarkon about how he only got an E grade for his A-Levels and now he shags Ford Fiestas
Sorted out my place to live for drama school.
@NYTofGB
in the next two weeks. Fundraising going really well. Still writing letters to actors and all that good stuff. Safe to say I’m feeling well mint.
I still remember feeling like my life was over on AS Level results day. Now I’m going to drama school in October. That’s some Cinderella story if I ever heard one.
If these kids want their papers remarked they have to cough up £30 per paper or upwards (I’m pretty sure I had to pay £60 for one of mine back in 2015). To a working class family that’s a LOT of money. That’s not including resits which is the same fee. Classism at its peak.
my sister got her a-level results today! Her mock results were AAA, her centre assessed results were A*,A,A* which she 100% deserves yet because of clever Boris’ algorithm she’s ended up with BBC ... HOW do you come to that result when NONE of her work has ever been graded that
(Thread). This a thousand times. Some of these schools are endorsed by the richest people in the country and I know for a fact that one school gets £2m from the Queen every year. But all of a sudden they expect you to raise £70k just to stay on their course? Do me a favour.
The fact we’ve normalised people searching for £70k to go to drama school, and the institutions offering training aren’t taking any responsibility for the funding of their future students is fucking dystopian.
The Virtues is one of the best things I’ve seen for quite a while. Massive fan of
@StephenGraham73
and
@helenbehan
anyways but this is just next level. All Shane Meadows stuff is that level of quality. Unbelievable stuff.
@oldvictheatre
plays like Lungs are the reason people like me want to work in theatre. It was something truly special and it makes me miss it so much. What a show. “Thank you for being my person.”
The countdown is over… Please join us in sending all the good vibes for the cast and crew of A Very Expensive Poison who opened last night to a packed audience at

Late to the party. But oh my word Coco is fabulous. Easily one of the best Pixar movies. If you haven’t seen it you must!!!! And the soundtrack is pure chefs kiss 👏🏻👌🏼
I was gonna quit acting and go in the navy. I’d lost all hope. I started running 4/5 times a week and learned what I need to do to look after myself. Most importantly to check in on ME. Now I feel like a mentality beast. Your mind is your battery. Keep it charged.
So me and the wonderful
@JackRYoung
did a thing. We’ve written a little comedy. We’re in it. It’s getting featured on BBC Tees. Tomorrow from 7pm-8pm. Watch out for it. Ta 😉
@BBCTees
@BBCUpload
With this in mind if there’s anyone from my sort of background (working class/benefit class) with any questions about drama school/help with pieces or how the bloody hell to do it - my inboxes are always open!
Huge shoutout to
@d_kirkbride1
doing fabulous stuff in
@playgoeswrong
. Fella from my neck of the woods being mint on stage is exactly what it’s all about. Even treated me and my lovely housemates to pizza. What a gentleman. ❤️
Isolation
@Alphabetti
was easily one of the best things I’ve seen at that theatre. Everyone knows kids like that and that’s what made it so brilliant. Nothing better than being the kid who sold Coke cans either. Marvellous stuff from
@ElijahYoung1998
and everyone else involved👏🏼
Floorboards
@Alphabetti
was bloody class. Put theatre on like that in London and you could charge anything. The fact it’s pay what you feel is remarkable.
