Texas Chainsaw Massacre (2022) Thank you, low expectations! I'd been told to expect bargain basement crap but this is anything but. Fast-paced, brutal & nihilistic with that trademark series touch of OTT twisted black humour. Leatherface is simply superb and so is his chainsaw.

Celebrating 40 years of Friday the 13th Part 3: 3D! Here's an original theater lobby standee, complete with dripping blood mechanism. It's owned by superfan Gregg Parish (who played the soundtrack in the background for effect). Still the coolest memorabilia I've ever seen.

Halloween II (1981) On this day 40 years ago, the sequel to John Carpenter's immortal classic was released into US theaters. Quite possibly the greatest slasher film of the 80s, I love Halloween II more than words could do it justice. Happy 40th, you beautiful badass! 🎃🔪

Scream (1996) On this day 25 years ago, Wes Craven's meta masterpiece held its premiere in Los Angeles. Written by Kevin Williamson, Scream's clever self-referential slasher reinvented the sub-genre and revitalised horror as a whole. This film means everything to me.

Dead Silence (2007) On this day 15 years ago, James Wan & Leigh Whannell followed up their smash hit Saw with a supernatural spookfest. Dead Silence is one of my favourite modern horror films. It's scary, stylish and features 2 fiendishly terrifying villains: Mary Shaw & Billy.
