The XRPL is basically in spam protection mode. Due to all the free loaders on the network. There is capacity everywhere at the moment but the ledger has forced all low fee transactions into a queue. This effects everyone using the network. It’s the ledger protecting its self.

ODL and the noise of uphold... - XRP sold at exchanges is better for the end user... less markups (middle men). - XRP sold at a broker is worse, now dealing with a FORCED market maker taking a spread. uphold takes 2% on you buy and 2% on your sell.
