#Omicron hasn't just mutated. It's changed Covid symptom presentation too. Out: Loss of smell, taste. In: Sore throat*, runny nose, congestion, cough, body aches. If you have any of these, it's probably not a cold or flu. You probably have Omicron.

@NightShiftMD I've been an internist & ID doc over 20 years & would agree but add it's not just in ER. It's everywhere in the healthcare sector. From cleaning, support staff in hospitals to primary care. Sick. Burned out. Retired too early. Historic attrition. Not tenable.

With due respect to NACI, there should be no "preferred vaccines" for #Covid19 . A thoughtful, informed choice based on individual risks related to age, gender, community transmission is a must. Implying vaccine superiority is dangerous.

Alberta is facing the worst public health crisis in its history. ICUs are barely surviving in part bc many Covid-19 patients who are admitted, are not. Mere weeks ago, the message was it's time to "learn to live with the virus". Let that sink in.

Another reminder that plexiglass, painted arrows, half-hanging masks & even being "alone" do not stop aerosol spread of #COVID19 . If we share air, we do it in time AND space. Pls keep masking indoors. Pls remember that #COVIDisAirborne

Too many times today my nursing/admin colleagues have been verbally abused or berated by someone unvaccinated displeased for being denied hospital visit privileges. Healthcare staff deserve courtesy. Patients deserve safety. Period.
