Young hockey players in the UK haven’t played competitive hockey almost a year. They like my son have missed it, it is a huge part of their lives. Today a local field froze and my son got skate outside - the smile after was huge. To skate outside for Brits is a dream. 😀🥅🏒

Played my first proper game of cricket in a very long time today. I pulled my hamstring bowling, played down the wrong line batting and was LBW for a golden duck. We chased 130 and tied the game with a 4 off the final ball. It was absolutely brilliant. #cricketreturns

A shame that @BBCSheffield & @swfc couldn’t come to a deal.I feel for @Gids1980 & @robstaton because it makes their job extremely difficult on a daily and weekly basis. Having a local radio coms deal is for the fans & worth more than the money which in football terms is tiny.

Just back to the apartment after a frazzling yet brilliant last 5 hours. @TeamGBicehockey wanted it today and would not rest until they beat Italy. It was a gutsy performance and every single one if them deserves full credit. On a personal note so much fun to commentate on.

Wearing a piece of Sheffield history today. I think the buzz in Sheffield around the WSG in 1991 helped cement my love for all sport and taught me to enjoy watching the competition and high class performances whatever discipline. I was 13.

Totally understand why West Ham fans are upset about the handball decision. However the officials implemented the laws, and had the arm not touched the ball it would have been cleared to reletive safety. Yes it was unintentional, but it was still handball. #twitterblades

I didn’t know Steve Wright very well, but a while I ago I got the chance to read the sport on Radio 2 for a few weeks. The first job of the day was to deliver a minute headline read into Steve’s show. You had to go into his studio and read in front of him. It was intimidating

Early start this morning. I am really proud to be taking the @Mcr_Storm Academy U11s to the National Championships today. Should be a great experience for the kids and huge reward for their work on and off the ice this season. They are a lovely group of players. Good luck all.
