We live in a highly sexualized but not sexual time. It's performative, stripping potential allure or titillation to intentionally leave only the vulgar.

Some people are mean. The internet allows people to encounter far more mean people than they otherwise would, and enables those men people to feed off each other. It also, as stated, enables *you* to find your community of like-minded people you otherwise couldn't. Trade-offs.

It's not your *fault* that you have ADHD. It's is your *responsibility* to yourself to overcome it, and succeed despite it, when possible. That's the lesson you're supposed to learn, and I hope that, eventually, you do.
@Yeenie_Mcbeenie
Only if by coincidence you're happy with what you got. Otherwise you, like everyone else, has every right to complain that they were lied to as what you bought was not what you were sold. Do you take issue with dishonesty otherwise?

Think it's the euphemistic framing of Costco as a "villain" and relative lack of emphasis on the onerous regulations that throw it off, unless you think those regulations are reasonable

It outlasted them by doing the things you listed. Those measures weren't to kill the industry, they were to survive what was already happening with media. $24 for a DVD at Borders was never going to be sustainable.

30 years ago fashion and modeling standards were almost entirely tailored to the aesthetic preferences of gay men. You're pining after post-pubescent boys.

For people who claim to be about inclusivity, it's incredible just how amazingly hyper-focused they are on advancing their own interests at the deliberate expense of another. Weaponized spite.

Do you know why boomers are as dismissive as they are? They've been hearing the same alarmism for 15 years longer than the 40 us in Gen X have

It's this self-awareness that makes it a choice, which doesn't at all mean you're wrong. Consequence of not having to work that hard for many years

Any extreme of either is detrimental to humans, and these are points on a conceptual axis - there's no positive or negative association implied, only inferred. A world of perfect order is the same nightmare as a world of perfect chaos. Both are necessary.

I was falsely accused of SA once; along with 7 other men, all at the same time, to whom she and her boyfriend sent threatening letters demanding money and other goods or she'd report. She got 7.5 for extortion.

He didn't say "just asking people not to overthrow the government," and he never suggested that it was reasonable. He directly compared the demands for ideological fealty, because they're functionally similar regarding professors. Either one being "reasonable" is your projection.

Which "racist" tropes would those be? Orcs = black people? Do you believe orcs = black people? What signifiers are you seeing that creates a parallel? And so what if he's transphobic. People get to be. That doesn't exclude trans people from playing the game.

Terrorism is a tactical choice. Have we caused problems? Yes. Did we "cause" terrorism? Absolutely not. And people who feel that terrorism is just another tactic are not the people anyone should be listening to.

Another rule of society is theft is punished. If the authorities entrusted with a monopoly on violence are abdicating their responsibility to enforce this rule, the society will go around them to ensure the rule is followed. If this doesn't happen, the society collapses.

One cannot have a fruitful discussion - particularly on a controversial or contentious topic - if there is not an agreed-upon definition for terms being applied. When you see people talk about "redefining words," it's because their interlocutor failed to acknowledge when they're

Perhaps they honestly believe it to be the preferable ending, which is not the same as the "good" ending. What the creators deem to be the correct path doesn't render said path the only valid choice, and disagreeing does not invalidate the goals of the creator
