That was an iconic second half from Liverpool. Southampton probably shaded the first half there, a team in form; a team with rising confidence. For Liverpool to then go and do that, in the second 45. It sent a shiver down the spine. There are no known superlatives left.

@danfieldsend The first time he went to Anfield, was for a Fairs Cup game against Dundalk. It was a night when Ray Clemence played only his second game in a Liverpool shirt, his first in Europe. We won 10-0, and he took Patrice Bergues along with him.

There is a transparency in those going overboard on faux celebration of Liverpool losing tonight, which is reflecting just how much pain they'll be feeling in a short few weeks time, when they clinch the title. There is a heavy degree of self compensation that is quite hypnotic.
