One of the most moving moments today at Paisley Abbey. The Papal Nuncio and priests ended the visit by asking to sing the Salve Regina as the Monks would have done each day to end compline. Perhaps the first time this was sung there since the Reformation.
Goosebumps as 2,000 Catholics sing Ave Maria for peace in the world at George Square in the centre of Glasgow. All ages and groups were united. What a powerful witness to the vitality of the Church in Scotland
Fr Dermott has sadly died aged 55 from a mysterious illness after collapsing at his church in Newcastle. He was a priest for 30 years and was the brother of Dec from Ant and Dec. May he rest in the peace of Christ whom he served as priest.
Kieran Tierney reflects on his time at school and his memories from his First Holy Communion as part of our SCES Documentary marking 100 years of Catholic State Education.

Dear Parish Priests. Want to appeal to young people? Put one of these out. Normalise the option for those who wish to kneel for communion. It'll increase reverence and accompany those in a synodal manner. Please consider it! Would you like it in your parish?!
It was deeply moving to see Catholics kneel at altar rails and receive the Lord at Mass yesterday in Edinburgh. We firmly believe that restoring rails and using them is a surefire away to Eucharistic revival and devotion.
In 1560 John Knox preached against the Catholic Faith which led to the Scottish Reformation and the banning of the Mass Today in 2024, 100s of Catholics processed for Corpus Christi by the house of John Knox. Faith of our fathers living still. In spite of dungeon, fire and sword.
Immediately after being ordained a holy priest of God, Fr
@RevRyanBlack
rushes to embrace his mum and dad. What an emotional moment to capture on film. God bless those parents for raising a Holy Priest for Scotland

Sadly all too common an event in Scotland. What will
@NicolaSturgeon
and the
@scotgov
do to reassure Catholics and the protection of their places or worship?
No comment needed as the relics of St Therese visit Barlinnie Prison in Glasgow. 90 Prisoners attended Mass led by Archbishop Tartaglia. The sombre sense of peace and spirituality was evident all around
@timothy_stanley
Disgusting destruction in St Simon's Catholic Church Glasgow. Catholics just want to worship in peace and we are seeing more graffitti and vandalism. What are the parties doing about these issues?

The Official Arrival Procession of the Relics of St Therese of Lisieux to Scotland
No comment needed as we present the sights and sounds of a grace filled day for the Catholics of Scotland as they welcome St Therese of Lisieux in their thousands! This is our faith!

The Nuncio Archbishop Buendía is an accomplished Pianist and decided to give the children of St Patrick's Greenock a little rendition of his repertoire.

Jane Jackson an expat Scot living in Australia sent this wonderful version of "Bring Flowers of the Rarest to her mum Mary Cameron who misses her. Let's unite in prayer listening to Jane's hymn for all those missing loved ones this month of May
Myheritage has some great tools for your family photos including colourisation and even the new possibility of simulated animation. We thought we would try this out with some of the saints! It's really quite an amazing effect! St Therese pray for us
Sadly some of our street flags for our Cafin Grotto 3pm procession have been torn down last night. We do not have time to order new ones. Does anyone have spare large Vatican flags and or Saltires?
If these could be handed in before 12.
Thanks
As the Catholic Community of Scotland lay Bishop Elect Martin Chambers to rest tomorrow we share the very moving and poignant last sermon of Fr Martin, hours before he was to die in his sleep. May he rest in the peace of Christ.
Lovely scenes as the Benedictine Monks of Pluscarden welcome the Little Flower! The Monk's chant and incense filled the air as rose petals dropped from the heavens to the congregation of delighted school children below.

Very sad news to hear the death of former Scottish First Minister Alex Salmond. Catholics rightfully will remember the way he graciously welcomed Pope Benedict to Scotland in 2010. His warm welcome set the tone for the rest of the UK visit. God rest him.
Congratulations to Kate Forbes on being named Deputy First Minister of Scotland. May this be a watershed moment for those who hold Christian beliefs in this country to have the freedom to hold the highest of offices.
On this day September 30th 1897, St Therese of Lisieux entered into life. She said her last words whilst gazing at a crucifix. "Oh I love Him, my God, I love You"
Thanks to Paul Lawlor sponsored by Lawlor Technologies who donated this contactless holy water dispenser for our parish church. We all miss blessing ourselves with Holy Water
We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Bishop Elect of Dunkeld Fr Martin Chambers. We have worked with him over the years and he was a lovely man. We were looking forward to seeing his Ordination as Bishop in 17 days time in Dundee. Let us pray for the repose of his soul
My aunt's funeral 2020. No funeral Mass, no meeting relatives, no gathering at the graveside, no comfort. The same for thousands of others, yet those who set the rules quaffed wine and laughed at us all. Tomorrow I'll rejoice that we kick them out of power.
We met and worked with Fr Martin on many occassions, his words to us from 2019 sum up very succinctly his Priestly life, find God in the simple, little ways of Life. He did that. May he Rest in the peace of Christ

What we have all been praying for!
We were delighted to meet Baby Therese at St Mirrin's Cathedral in Paisley. You will recall that the child born on the same day the relics arrived in Scotland and named after the Saint was seriously ill.
In fact at times it was touch and go.
RELICS OF ST THERESE VISIT BARLINNIE PRISON.
In an historic visit, the relics of St Therese of Lisieux entered Barlinnie prison Glasgow today.
Archbishop Tartaglia led Holy Mass attended by around 90 prisoners who were able to venerate the relics afterwards.
Incredible turnout for our Corpus Christi Procession to Our National Marian Shrine today! 1000s processed through the streets behind Our Lord. A day that will long live in our memory!
Tantum Ergo
The tune of this beloved chant dates to the 5th-7th century AD, as part of the Gallican Rite of the Roman Catholic liturgy. The text comprises the last two verses of the medieval hymn Pange Lingua, written by St. Thomas Aquinas.
sad to report some yobs have destroyed some of the candle stands where we pray for our loved ones. Whilst there is financial damage and implications for repairs at a time when we are tight in cash, there is larger impact of intimidation and desecration of loved ones memorials
Fr Des Broderick of the Archdiocese of Glasgow has died tonight. A wonderful priest. A good holy man. May God reward him for his many many years in the service of the Lord.
Last night the relics of St Therese of Lisieux made a private short stop to the Carmelite Monastery at Dysart in Fife. It was a very emotional & spiritual moment which allowed these sisters to pray before the relics & venerate them before they moved to St Mary's Cath Edinburgh
This is quite frankly disgusting.
Our parish priest at Holy Family Parish Mossend has had trouble in recent days with teenagers who are intimidating him by trespassing, being abusive, kicking doors and other general misdemeanours.
Today they have smashed in the front window
Welcome to our new X followers on here! We are John and Brian from Scotland with a passion for sharing the beauty, truth and history of the Catholic Church through our Media Apostolate Sancta Familia Media. Give us a follow and a share! And most importantly pray for us.
We're so glad to be back with you during this crisis to share in the events of Holy Week
Thanks to everyone who contacted FB and expressed support and prayers for us during this time
We always kept in line with FB policy
Thankfully FB have lifted block and said it was a mistake
A good turnout for the first ever Scotland's Men's Rosary for Peace. A great mix of young and old kneel and pray to our Blessed Mother for peace in our troubled world.
@Sachinettiyil
If you have listened to BBC Scotland's Call Kay Show today you would have heard a number of alarming views proposing that Nativity plays are offensive and should have no place in modern Scotland!
We disagree!
So Who loves Nativity plays?!
Farewell Fr Jim Grant
Each priest is in persona Christi and should love his people as Christ loved his flock. After 23 years in Mossend our parish have come to love Fr Grant and he will be a sore miss. He moves with our prayers and affection. God bless and thank you!
Pope Francis has requested ALL Catholics join tonight in a global Rosary 9pm Rome time.
So for us in Scotland this is 8pm tonight.
This is gravely important that we adhere to the Holy Father's request.
May God rest Fernando Ricksen who has died aged 43 following a long battle with MND.
He spent his last years of suffering with great dignity and witness.
He spent his final days in St Andrew's Hospice Airdrie.
May he rest in peace

7.30am TLM for SPUC youth delegates at conference this morning.
Tbh I did not expect many to be there bcause it was such an early time I was wrong. Future of the faith is indeed bright. Over 100 youTH packed into the room to join in. Young Catholics clearly crave tradition.

A most moving Rosary for peace in Ukraine and in the world tonight at Carfin Grotto. A large crowd gathered in the cold before our Blessed Mother of Fatima and then sang hymns and candles around the Ukranian Shrine. Thanks to Alan and Veronica Wilson for organising and Fr Grant
One of our parish Holy Family Parish Mossend 's famous sons Billy McNeill is laid to rest today at a Requiem Mass in Glasgow
Billy May the choirs of Angels come to greet you may they speed you to paradise. May the Lord enfold you in His mercy May you find eternal life
