I really don't get how Cole Palmer manages to score goals such as these😂😂
Difficult angle for a left footer and also a tight space between the GK and the post. You gotta hit the ball with immense precision and power.
Same against Brighton 4th goal
Enzo Fernandez does his job silently. He'll not get noticed when he plays but you'll surely miss him when he doesn't especially in a positional play setup.
-He's the tempo controller and the connector in midfield.
-He finds spaces from where you can build an attack.
-He slows
@Blue_Footy
Poor finishing. Took too much time on an open goal. Another chance he botched by taking the ball too close to the keeper and then shooting. That instinctive shooting is not there still. But his decision making has improved. That pass to palmer for the assist was brilliant
Levi Colwill is just insane right now. Has the ability to become a top defender for an extended period of time. His defending as an LB and in wide areas is thanks to Poch. One of the good things he did at Chelsea.
When Enzo Fernandez is subbed off, we find it difficult to hold the ball, slow the game down and control the tempo
Against Brighton, he was subbed off and they had their longest attack sequence
Against West Ham, again, we subbed Enzo and they had their most lethal attack
Everyone with decent ball knowledge could tell that this guy is a diamond 💎
It's good to see that it's being talked about more in the media. Positive talk about Jackson in the media is hard to find.
Brighton head coach Fabian Hurzeler on Jackson:
🗣️ "I think he is the full package. He wants to combine. Sometimes he's getting more space where he can combine with his teammates.
He's also very fast - he can attack the defence. This mix, this balance, makes him very dangerous
Home fans need to learn from the away fans.
When Chelsea wasn't doing well on the pitch they shouted "CHELSEA CHELSEA" to boost the team's morale instead of moaning and booing their own players. Chelsea started playing better as the second half progressed as a result.

Exactly man. The game was lost due to one eze magic moment. When we win due to individual quality, it's always "no system, just individual quality winning us games" and that's exactly what palace did today. One individual quality moment from eze and all our performance down the
Todd Boehly is what they call “chels”. He cares about the club. He does not see it as a business, who only cares about stockpiling assets.
He wanted to keep Chelsea where it was.
His first window was poor because:
A) He was busy backing Tuchel.
B) No sporting structure in
@Blue_Footy
Yes. Exactly. Well said.
Not to mention his creative abilities, physical attributes. If his finishing becomes half decent and he starts shooting on first touch, he'll end up being a world class signing
The way our fans are, they'll be all over Maresca to stop starting Nkunku after 1-2 games if he doesn't get a goal.
The thing is, Jackson provides a lot OOP that Nkunku doesn't. But nkunku's link up play, intelligence and finishing is so clinical, that you'd be tempted to start
Gary Cahill on Nkunku's winning goal:
🗣️ “We spoke about Sancho, his impact in the second half, great ball in, and I think Nkunku, I am not sure how much he knew about the turn, to be honest.
It’s almost like his momentum and determination got him on the end of that, used his
No. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Improvements can surely happen, but we created more than enough to win. Sometimes give credit to the keepers for their saves. That double save from Palmer's shots and the one from Nkunku's shot, any other day we would have scored
• Brought in an identity that we lacked for quite some time.
• Instilled a fighting spirit in the team and healthy competition while improving players. Wants everyone to be a leader in their own way.
• Usually proactive with his in game management, terrific outputs after his
Gotta applaud Mudryk tbh. Yes he's not playing against high level oppositions but I feel this spell against UECL teams and cup games are like a pseudo loan spell for him under a little less pressure that I wanted to see.
Ever since the Servette second leg, he's had good games.
@CFCPys
@LondonsFirst_
Positive- How adaptable he is. The way he reads the opponent thoroughly and develops our approach towards them. If the approach doesn't work he changes it up at half time and makes things work. He's proactive
More positives are there but this is the biggest one for me
Negatives
23/24 under ten Hag:
Premier League — 8th with minus goal difference.
UCL — Finished rock bottom of a group which had Galatasaray and Copenhagen.
Carabao Cup — Out in 2nd round pathetic defence of the trophy.
Fa Cup — Narrowly beat Coventry to progress to the final which we
@Blue_Footy
@MozoFootball
Adaptability in possession based can be lethal. We play more vertically against wolves and depending on every team's system, if this team can adapt while sticking to their principles, no one would be able to stop us
Cucurella 's game IQ is underrated. He has hardly put a foot wrong after coming back from injury last season. Justifying his price tag and signing.
Inverting into midfield today, the best thing about him is his counter pressing, front foot defending. But he has also improved
@Blue_Footy
Not giving up on him as of yet.
Still young, less experienced for a 23 year old so he'll get there. Tbh I don't see many footballers from Ukraine academy who aren't raw. But his talent compared to others is way more
@TheBlueDodger
@footmercato
Losing him would be a big blunder considering he's such a lethal finisher, has an eye for goal and is versatile. Plus he's entering his peak years
I need these two starting together
They'll provide High level quality on both sides of the pitch. And they understand each other's games because they think differently from the others. They see passes and gaps in tight spaces.
Last night's palmer's cameo beside Nkunku was
@AlexGoldberg_
His game IQ is underrated. When playing the inverted role, he's probably the most elite LB in the league right now. Knows when to invert and when not to. He's very intelligent.
If you wanna compare what Enzo Fernandez does, then compare him with players having similar roles rather than comparing him with out and out 10s.
Not sure how to put it, it's not even "similar roles" i'm comparing but players who play as 8. The given roles based on the
@Blue_Footy
The adaptability of maresca suggests he's better than arteta. But given by the league position in the first year of the project, even poch clears arteta😂
Everything I have said about Enzo Fernandez was visible today.
•Broke down plays
•Crispy passes
•Press resistant
•FOR ALL THE G/A MERCHANTS - created two chances but the result was exactly what I have always been saying -
He'll create chances and our forwards will botch
Chelsea in the league since their 4-2 defeat to Wolves at home last season:-
P : 22
W: 13
D: 7
L : 2(City and Arsenal)
Points Won : 46
It's time we recognize this group of players for their significant growth, both individually and collectively, over the past year. While
Most through balls despite playing only 28 matches last season. He's a progressive passing merchant which leads to direct and indirect chance creations. If he had not been unlucky with attackers botching his chance creations, then casual fans would have appreciated him even more.
When Enzo Fernandez is subbed off, we find it difficult to hold the ball, slow the game down and control the tempo
Against Brighton, he was subbed off and they had their longest attack sequence
Against West Ham, again, we subbed Enzo and they had their most lethal attack

Yes.
I never thought he was using chelsea to get a better deal from saudi. Rather i thought the opposite. That he's probably using Al Ahli to get a better deal from chelsea and it's the reason he has kept Saudi in the game till now
@Blue_Footy
Neto
Noni
Misha
Misha is peculiar. Sometimes can have the smoothest of first touches. But other times could be horrendous. So considering consistency, that's my ranking
Watched the first two games under Poch
vs Liverpool at the bridge
vs West Ham at London Stadium
as we were playing a more slow build up possession style football at that time before poch turned to his transition ball
Enzo was the best player on the pitch and guess what, most
Even though Enzo is doing an underrated job as LCM now, I have a feeling Enzo would be more successful as RCM. But Palmer is operating there so there's not chance
@Blue_Footy
You get it
I laugh at these people rn. I'm open for constructive criticism about his defensive game and stuff. But because he doesn't accumulate G/A, people don't rate him😂
Go figure, he's maresca's go to man in midfield
@Blue_Footy
@SkySportsNews
That's good. Take it step by step. Follow the process. Right now it's about improvement and learning the positional play system. We are on MD2 and all I have seen from the first pre season game is improvement
One thing I'll give Mudryk is that he tries. He's a hard worker. And he's not selfish.
Could have easily gone for goal as we were already winning but he still decided to set up Neto, which was the right decision as well because the GK closed Mudryk's angle. But still it was 3-0
Noni Madueke just keeps impressing from the bench whether it's with Chelsea or England.
He really breaks the door down to get into the first team.
An assist for Harry Kane on his England debut💙
Agreeing to Mikel's reactionary comments has got to be a proof of something 😂
100% his comments would have changed had Enzo got the two assists he deserved against Brighton.
For some people, output is only what stats and G/A shows. That's why he hated Jackson as well
@Blue_Footy
I do believe we'll be better against the smaller teams this season and won't lose points to them like last season. But I also believe that it would be difficult against the big 5 or maybe the big 4 considering our style
🚨 Ben Chilwell has been included in Chelsea’s 25-man Premier League squad and will meet with head coach Enzo Maresca about his future.

I thought jackson and palmer were the best duo😂
I get your point. Palmer in the right half space combining with noni wide is as lethal as it gets.
And now with someone like a Sancho on the left, we can build on this side as well combining with Enzo.
There are two types of elite managers.
•One type is the ceiling raisers. They'll extract the best out of top talents.
•Another type is the floor raisers. They'll extract the best out of average players.
Thomas Tuchel falls in that category.
The only guy who can help
Pretty sure this would be the lineup Maresca would field at Anfield.
The suspensions of Cucurella and Fofana could be a blessing in disguise for this game because Liverpool are the strongest team in the air. Much needed height and aerial prowess from Tosin and Veiga could help.
@Blue_Footy
No one tbh.
His haters been at me saying "once lavia is fully fit, he'll be put in place of Enzo and we'll have lavia and Caicedo because they can defend better than him" 😂😂😂😂😂
They think midfielders only role is to be good defensively.
Just because Enzo makes those
@Blue_Footy
Kinda feel he needs to choose the attack based on the opposition. I think he wants to reward players for good performances but sometimes, some profile of players are better suited against certain opponents
Still not over how clutch this goal was😍
The composure
The skill to separate the ball from the tight space and then to finish it in the bottom right corner away from the gk
It's not as simple as it looks
Nkunku has only scored some beautiful goals in💙
I said he needs to try and deliver the same way in the limited opportunities he'll get in the PL and he did exactly that today. That could have been a match winning run and assist had Nkunku scored that. It's absolutely amazing how Mudryk used his pace to perfection and delivered
Gotta applaud Mudryk tbh. Yes he's not playing against high level oppositions but I feel this spell against UECL teams and cup games are like a pseudo loan spell for him under a little less pressure that I wanted to see.
Ever since the Servette second leg, he's had good games.
@MobyChe
Exactly. Always said that if he learns to accelerate and decelerate when he needs to while making those decisions, he'll be lethal. Veiga-mudryk on the left was a great partnership
@MobyChe
Imagine us being as clinical as the wolves game against an opponent using a highline against us. That 7 goal barrier is going to get breached easy
@Blue_Footy
Hope so. Sometimes fofana carries the ball too high. Which is good because he's aggressive and likes to take the game on. I hope tomorrow he holds position.
@ChelseaSeason
Not to mention he's yet to play in his preferred role which is a box to box destroyer. That would have allowed him to get more forward and help in attack. We already saw how good his passing is. If only lavia was available
@EnzoMaressca
Has potential but I'd like to see Tosin and Colwill together. I feel Tosin is PL level and shouldn't only be used for conference league games
@Blue_Footy
Always love these types of managers. You never know how they'll set up. You as the opponent manager have to make in game management but it's not like maresca doesn't know a thing or two about in game management himself
