They said wow it was here all this time! If only we had capitalism!

I have nothing against any specific person, and i respect the bravery and service ethic, but i see it as a tool of global imperialism and not an ethical force for good in the world.

@Rothmus Extreme poverty is a fake metric and the famous graph is faked based on bad data. Capitalism keeps people in actual poverty by design. It's also not good for science as you say. It distorts technology for profit and away from what's better for people.

I literally worked for a year on Paul Krugman's $3 million vacation home in Berkshire County and couldn't save enough to even begin to buy a small house for my own kids. He's absolutely out of touch with the working class. He's a sham, a liar for the mandarins of capitalism.

Quit my job and it’s my first Monday free in years. Amazing to have my own day. Milled wood on bandsaw mill. Working on shed on my own land. Lumberyard. Need to be my on boss, still capitalism still exploitation but much better than working for a direct boss in a bullshit job.

@existentialcoms Poverty is necessary for there to be exploitive and vast wealth. Wealth alone can be earned honestly, but not billionaire wealth. Capitalism makes housing and land too expensive to make most of us into wage slaves for the rich by the basic need of shelter as the driver.

@TrueDerekSloan The trouble with “free” is that it has no value to the person who doesn’t pay for that free. We were taught to take what you need. Others are taught to “take it all, if you don’t, someone else will, so it might as well be you”. Some go a step further and sell it.

Land is a commodity and not a basic right and the rent is due on the 1st of the month and you have to go make wages to pay the rent or else you end up homeless, that is capitalism in the essence.

@keralovell Yes! I was homeless in grad school living in an abandoned house across the road until it got too cold then sleeping in my office avoiding the guard. Now i'm a carpenter working 7 days a week in Berkshire County and can't afford a house, i rent for my little family, it's insane.

Enclosure drives people off the land then we must do wage work to buy food and shelter. Then we’re less poor? Seems like we’re more exploited to me.

@BothSidesDo_It @wreccles To some small degree, there is some bad influence in the building code that makes life harder for the poor, but generally they are made by very good people with the right goals in mind, and enforcement does make buildings safer and better. Many builders would badly cut corners.
