America already did most of its grand building a century ago.
When the Empire State Building was built in 1 year, they didn't have a century's worth of established architectural & engineering knowledge to lean on.
The real issue in the USA is maintenance, not bombastic monuments
@tnaladdin
Why do you think that?
ALL your problems whether among Muslims or among Arabs existed before 1948.
If you solve Palestine you'll have solved nothing.
Is it just a lack of intelligence?
@sfnzmi
But you're taking it completely out of context to fit a modern anti Jewish agenda.
Moses was leading the Jewish people to the promised land & we all know where that is.
How many inconsistencies can you tolerate?
@samerhamarneh
Look, your grandparents as individuals may have been decent, welcoming people, but for the most part, the Palestinian population did not welcome the Jewish immigrants

In 1985, police dropped explosives from a helicopter destroying 61 homes over two city blocks & leaving 250 people homeless. 11 killed.
For some reason everyone's heard of Waco, but what about Philly's Waco? (Yes, I know, everything's bigger in TX)

On the contrary.
It's the most successful state in the region.
Last thing the world needs is another Lebanon or Iraq or Egypt - all colossal failures.

Join us this Juneteenth to remember the Irish who died during the potato famine in June.
Join us for a memorial for the European Jews killed during the great Nakba of 1939-1945.
Am I doing it right?
@eric_weinberger
Haha, no.
Israel would be doing so much better in Gaza if they were indifferent to civilians.
The IDF announces in advance where it's going to attack next, it's facilitating the conveyance of endless fuel & food aid trucks all along -all measures unprecedented in warfare
@samerhamarneh
Not sure u wanna go that route considering millions of Arabs/Muslims are being welcomed to varying degrees as refugees in the West.
Regardless, Palestinians then were in no position to welcome/reject. Jews immigrated & invested, purchased land etc. They got no freebies whatsoever
@gay_lumberjack
"Some people would say" is another way of saying: I don't believe a single word you're saying but I'm too afraid of admitting that lest I lose my progressive credentials & get cancelled.

Dude, have you ever even been to Flatbush?
You don't seem to know what Flatbush is or how Brooklyn works.

@GadSaad
False equivalency. Since the 1947 land division proposal (=equivalency) Israel sought to live in peace with all its neighbors who mostly haven't reciprocated.
They chose violence & that's what they got.
@troutgirl
Stop belittling the Holocaust with ludicrous comparisons to people being gently flown to a highly desirable vacation destination where nothing bad will happen to them.
@AotearoaMouse
I think Sam Harris mentions it. Sure America isn't immaculate, we should strive to be better. But you don't correct an injustice by committing the inverse injustice. Sad that that's not more obvious.
