Ramadan may be gone, but the Qur'an is still with us. Don't let your connection to the Quran end with the end of Ramadan. Start by reading a few pages or even a few lines today. If you don't understand Arabic, then read a few verses and read their translation.

There is no greater blessing than Islam. It is not up to any of us whom Allah favours with it and whom He denies it to. Who do you think you are to say who can be Muslim and who cannot? I pray that allows me to die a Muslim and forgives me my sins.

I've never particularly recommended Tafsir al-Jalalayn for students to read primarily as it is a book that requires sharh due to its extreme brevity. However, having read some of this commentary, I can confidently say that it fulfills that need for explanation.

One of the stupidest ideas I've heard from some Salafis is the notion that intense love by itself can be shirk akbar. So, if a person loves his girlfriend or wife very intensely, that could be shirk and on Yawm al-Qiyama that person would be condemned to eternal hellfire.
