When you use turn signals, you are saying, “I intend to turn or change lanes.” If you wait until you are actually turning or changing lanes before you signal, you are not telling other drivers what you intend to do. They can already see that you are turning.

#TrafficTripTuesday Let's talk turning. When making a turn, make sure it's into the first available driving lane (trucks & buses might need more room). Making a turn from or to the wrong lane increases your chances of being involved in a collision and will result in a $230 fine.

#TrafficTipTuesday Drivers in SK are required to slow to 60km/h when passing emergency vehicles on the roadside. Another way to keep roadside workers safe? Flip on your 4-way flashers. It serves as a signal to other drivers, as well as to roadside workers that you see them.

When traffic lights are out, treat intersections as 4-way stops. Bring your vehicle to a complete stop, and proceed when it’s safe. If 2 vehicles approach the intersection from different streets at the same time, the driver on the left must yield to the vehicle on the right.
