bc ppl keep confusing bestsapphics w us & spreading misinformation, we r changing our user. pls don't accuse of us of not trying to take responsibility. this situation has been repeatedly brought up. most is clarified in our carrd & this thread ⬇️pls read everything b4 assuming.
since it's lesbian visibility day i'd like to remind you all that he/him, they/them and neopronoun lesbians are valid and that lesbians that struggle with comphet are just as valid as lesbians that don't!
if you’re not a lesbian then stop making lesbian jokes. i don’t want to hear “hey mamas” “i hate lesbians” “mean lesbians” etc ‘jokes’ from non-lesbians. it’s very weird. stop it.
to ppl who are unaware of what's happening in america and amy coney barrett, here is a little thread of articles. there are tw on specific articles as shown below. you may add others below if you find them.
attention musical loving sapphics🗣
a new musical called Willow about two wlw love stories of different generations that take place under the same magical Willow tree is being made! the writer is a 16 yo enby and the soundtrack is linked under this tweet....EVERYONE STREAM!! -E
reminder on this lesbian visibility day that while lesbo is not a slur, it is a derogatory term and people that aren't lesbians' really shouldn't say it. it costs $0 to be respectful. that's all.
seen a couple people asking what sapphic is and what the term means.
google says it means lesbian but that is NOT the case. at least, not always. lesbians are sapphic, but not all sapphics are lesbians!
let's break down what sapphic is, and why the term is used!
the document wasn’t made by just her, there was multiple people that worked on it. it’s really gross how many non-lesbians are excited to see discourse when it’s only going to be exhausting & draining for lesbians. leave lesbians alone.
7) not all non-binary people use they/them. non-binary people can use whatever pronouns we want and we are still non-binary. so don't just automatically assume someone uses they/them because they are non-binary.
ps lesbians and gay men do not have “monosexual privilege.” stop grouping us with cishets, our oppressors, as if our sexualities are oppressing other sexualities for simply existing. we don’t have special privilege or rights. we literally face homophobia/oppression too.
1) call us non-binary. some non-binary people are okay with being called enby/enbies but not all of them are. so just call us non-binary unless we say otherwise.
today is international lesbian day💘
this is a little thread to support all lesbians! closeted lesbians i love you. non-binary lesbians i love you. lesbians of color i love you. lesbians struggling with comphet i love you. all lesbians, i love you. -kail
gonna say it again because people still aren't getting it.
if you aren't a lesbian, don't tell lesbians how they should feel about their representation. and just because a show has lesbian representation in it, doesn't mean lesbians can't want more representation.
as a lesbian, I just want to say this.
lesbian representation in media needs to change. I know alot of people say that is has gotten better, but it really hasn't. most of the lesbian representation that I have seen has been written by men and been absolute ass.
2) don't use gendered terms with non-binary people unless they say they are comfortable. it doesn't matter if you "use it with everyone". don't use it for people if they aren't comfortable.
i think it’s really interesting how non-lesbians will do everything they can to not call canon lesbian characters & lesbians irl a lesbian like y’all will be like “a QUEEER icon” “she’s so QUEER” ????? lesbian isn’t a slur or dirty word holy shit just say lesbian
i need non-lesbians to stop making tweets along the lines of “if lesbians can control themselves around women then so can men” indefinitely. comparing lesbians to predatory men is so harmful as it only spreads the ‘lesbians are predatory’ stereotype. leave lesbians alone already.
oh and I wanna make this clear, this account does support he/him and they/them lesbians as well as neo pronoun lesbians but will NEVER support bi/pan lesbians. so go away.
we need to talk about straight women going to lgbtq+ bars & being uncomfortable when women approach them. lgbtq+ bars are safe spaces for sapphics, you being weird in our safe space defeats the purpose. if you’re going w/friends fine but don’t be weird about women approaching you
psa non-lesbians, stop calling the lesbian master doc the “lesbian manifesto” and acting like its oppressing you when it’s not meant for you and you don’t need it 🥰
american sapphics, we are sorry for what's happening. if u need someone to talk to, our dms are open. as for non-american sapphics/non-americans in general, pls don't make fun of what's happening. the lives of marginalized ppl are in danger. empathy & love are essential rn.
