Officer Thielmann came home from the hospital today! He was escorted home by a police processional made up of vehicles from various agencies. We’ll have even more photos and some video tomorrow, but for now, enjoy these photos of our hero’s ride home.

The Romeoville High School marching band won Best Overall Percussion at their competition last weekend. Tomorrow, they'll try to repeat as they take the field at 9 p.m. at Andrew High School in Tinley Park.
Medical bills for retired police dogs can be very high and are covered by the adopting officer. Romeoville, however, is stepping up. As of last night, police K-9s will be covered by pet insurance as long as they are retained by their K-9 officer.
In honor of 9/11, 12 members of the Romeoville Fire Department walked up 110 flights of stairs (2,200 steps) in full gear. This is symbolic of the 110 flights of stairs in the World Trade Center. They did this last week on stair machines at Lifetime Fitness Romeoville.
Coming soon to the former site of KFC (442 Weber) is Cilantro Taco Grill! The existing building will be renovated and an outdoor patio area will be added. This will be Cilantro’s 15th Chicagoland location, but its first in Will County. They plan to be open by the end of the year.
Tonight we officially welcomed S2 Breakthrough (36 Montrose) to our business community! They are a softball development and training facility for ages 13 and older.

Tonight, the Village Board honored Police Chief Mark Turvey with a plaque commemorating 40 years of service to our community. He is retiring on Friday. Thank you for everything, Chief Turvey!

The town of Romeo was founded in 1835 and named after the Shakespeare character while the town of Juliet was established in 1837 just to the south. Romeo was renamed Romeoville in 1895 and Juliet eventually became Joliet.
The 2022 RHS Boys Soccer Team was recognized at tonight's Village Board Meeting for their incredible season that ended with them being named State Runner-Up! Well done everyone! Valley View School Board Members J.T. Boudouris (not pictured) & Victor Zack were also on hand.
The Village of Romeoville has been in contact with the organizers of the protest scheduled for Saturday, June 6th from noon-4 p.m. at the corner of Airport and Weber Roads. While the organizers are not from Romeoville, they have been very cooperative. (1/4)

At approximately 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, a KC-10 airplane will be flying extremely low over Romeoville in tribute to Air Force veteran Matthew J. Berszoner. He attended Bolingbrook High School and was a commercial airline pilot. He will be buried at Resurrection Cemetery.

Today, the Romeoville Police Department had visitors from After the Peanut's STEAM Camp. They learned about our evidence unit and Crime Scene Investigators.

A tremendous thank you to our Public Works team! Starting at 7 pm on Tues, they worked 16 hour shifts until 3:30 pm on Thurs (44.5 hours) to clear the roads. They battled 10" of blowing snow and two water main breaks. Without them, Romeoville would be at a standstill. Thank you!

. Romeo Beach was located just off of 135th St, across from what is today Citgo. People came from miles around to swim in the old quarry. The beach closed for good in 1973.
Today's the day of the Romeoville Metra station ribbon cutting! We'll be streaming the ceremony on Facebook Live at 11:30 pm. Tune in to watch this historic occasion as we open the first new stop on a Chicagoland Metra line since 2011!
