Brought in #soil for 8th grade earth science class with Mrs. Wilcox. Used four different soil types, soils map and @AGVISE soil test results. Did some ribbon testing, smell test and talked agriculture/science. Great day! (I was on my game after #DIGtheCTC )

Most important issue is Glyphosate formulation, then GPA, then amount of 2,4-D Amine. Esters/acids not an issue unless direct mixing.

Fire got underneath my Dad’s coveralls and he ended up in the hospital. Had to do an IV for an infection. You can see him here, on the phone with my brother, trying to give advise on the electronic clutches that were not working. “Damn electronics”- he’s doing better.

Walked quite a bit of corn today. Most varieties held up well through the Oct blizzard. This one did not. Checked in many spots (8 30” rows wide by 21.8 feet long) Estimated Cob drop loss ranged from 5-72 bu/a with about a 40 bu/a average.

Drone footage from north of Webster. Corn and soybean. Ground is very saturated. North and west sides of fields have most snow. 37 degrees out today, haven’t seen the sun since Oct 8. Slowly melting it away.
