Guy is completely honest, even if he’s being lighthearted. He wants to live in a place where he’s surrounded by Nigerians but not in Nigeria because it’s not nice enough and there wont be subsidies.

Person is screaming racist abuse at a cashier.
Me: “This seems bad, I should stop them.”
These guys: “Way to stigmatize the mentally ill Tourette’s sufferers who can’t help screaming racist abuse at cashiers.”

Why are you going to a privatised health system? Would you come back if the NHS became private and agreed as a result to pay you more?

Lol only a commie could be a miserable fucker about a literal cure for cancer.
What’s the limit of the amount an individual is allowed to profit from their own activities? Say a small company owned by its employees invented clean energy. Would you let them keep a few quid?
@turnip_tops
@Sammy6170
So if you invented a cure for cancer you’d immediately become evil?
To be clear I think you’re evil already so it’s a theoretical question. But I’m interested in the answer.
One of the things that’s so unpleasant about people like Jack Monroe is that they use up what isn’t an inexhaustible supply of empathy and goodwill. Nice people will think twice about helping someone in trouble or extending their sympathy because they got burned by a grifter.

But if you take away the right of a woman to complain about a man hanging around in a ladies toilet then you make that access considerably easier, don’t you?

Look, it’s pretty pathetic when you do the Cockwomble chicken tikka St George stuff, but flat-out making shit up is another level of sad.
It’s a mistake to say this is racist because that’s the performative label applied to this sentiment when it’s expressed by Europeans in order to discredit it. In fact it’s just understandable in-group preference and really it ought to be applauded.
@Lordflashh3art
Friend of mine’s daughter, sweet, intelligent, troubled girl, decided she was trans at 9 after huge pressure at school. Two years later having been removed from that influence she’s completely forgotten about it. Had she stayed in that orbit it would have been sold to her as
Leftists have this weird notion that criminals are somehow on their side. That they’re anti-establishment or something. Also they just think crime is cool. In fact crime disproportionately affects poor people and criminals are amongst the most capitalist people in the world.
@bukesisback
It’s amusing that Owen thinks diversity is always entirely positive when one of its direct effects in London has been to increase the number of people who think his sexual orientation should be criminalised.

Where I live the burglary clear up rate is slightly less than 1%. So logically you’d need to commit about 500 burglaries before hitting the mandatory two year sentence.

Some years ago I was in a McDonald’s and a creepy guy followed some young teenage girls into the toilets. They were really frightened and after it became clear what had happened a consensus emerged that he should leave. Under self ID this would be impossible.

If you lined up ten white Americans and got them each to speak for five minutes about themselves - but leaving out their ‘heritage’ - I guarantee no European would be able to tell what their ‘heritage’ was. It’s completely fake.
@OnTheWoolsack
It’s been quite strange seeing people (who are probably perfectly nice) respond to them with encouragement, like their tweets about leaving and in some cases even endorse oz healthcare when if an iota of that system were even mooted in the uk they’d go absolutely bananas
@LittleMammith
There’s a funny little cadre of Brit corporate lawyers who are VERY left wing on here but totally undercover in their professional life. I feel sorry for the younger generation because they haven’t realised it’s actually a LARP and you can’t do it IRL.

I like how this inadvertently suggests the writer thinks the world is a great big boring mass of queer people, but out there in the glinting suburbs and cul-de-sacs a febrile counterculture of straights is quietly brewing

But in this case the correlation (that immigration equals economic prosperity) is being pointed out by proponents of high immigration. And you’re right, it’s very easily falsifiable.

Haha imagine if Scotland had had to go through Covid without the union. You’d have been borrowing money at exorbitant rates and the country would now be destitute. And probably insisting rUK bail you out.
It’s unbelievable that you can reach Williams’ station in life and not realise that the law must be crafted around people’s worst impulses, not their best.
Only someone who knows little or nothing about the commonplace ways in which people’s free will and autonomy, especially people who are physically frail or in cognitive decline, is overborne by coercion from family members or carers, could write this so flippantly
When was the uk ever rich in itself?
I’d suggest never. Britain was only ever rich from wealth plundered from less fortunate nations.
And now, Scotland is one of the last remaining colonies, to be robbed of its riches.

My point is that they’re going to work in a system that if, say, the tories proposed for the UK, most Brits (and most doctors) would roundly oppose. And yet it pays them more and is apparently better resourced.
