The fact people are still claiming that the PS5 games are running on dev kits really illustrates that there's a large number of folks who shoved crayons up their noses as a kid.
And yes, I would say the same if the claim was made about xbox.
Sony "We believe in generations"
Also Sony "Spiderman and Horizon are coming to PS4"
Sony "We will give you plenty of notice for pre orders"
Also Sony "LOLz, preorders tomorrow so good luck"
I don't usually call people out, but this is a bad take imo.
I've no issue with Starfield being an xbox exclusive, but why on earth do you enjoy it more?
It's foolish imo; like does a playstation fan enjoy spiderman 2 more because xbox can't play it?
Meh
Iโm going to have at least 10% more fun with Starfield knowing a PS version once existed but was scrapped ๐
Stop port begging. Itโs done. Sony was outplayed by MS.
I don't like to be 'that person' who comments on other websites. But there's a story floating around that the Xbox Series X dedicates 20 percent of its GPU to audio. This isn't true. Xbox has its own DSP hardware
@TwitterSupport
This is NOT a good decision.
Particularly given journalism / discussion.
Spam filters exist and could be improved. This is NOT a change I want to see.
I can confirm there's a LOT more than this. As I keep saying, PS5 LITERALLY has desktop features removed because Sony made their own stuff up to replace them.
This evidence has been out there for literally months including LITERALLY what Cerny stated at the event.
The narrative that the XSS has faster clocks than the PS5 is ridiculous. The xss has SMT speeds of 3.4GHz, 3.6 without SMT enabled. PS5 is 3.5GHz with variable.
But, this isn't even the story. What's the cache latencies, CCX latencies, custom tweaks.
I find it really weird how people into tech and gaming say "who is a PS5 Pro for"
Meanwhile they've brought like 30 custom xbox controllers, upgraded their 4k 120hz tv seven times the past 3 years, brought a 4090 and have a PSVR2 sitting there too.
Like come on
Sure, you can argue that if it was on PC there'd be higher resolution and FPS supported.
But this is running on a console which literally costs less than a mid-range PC GPU.
It looks incredible. Seriously look at the foliage alone.
Knocked down machines don't stand a chance! Master new skills and be ready to take on your enemies in exciting new ways.
Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores launches April 19 โ Pre-order now:
This might be a dumb question but...
Why on *EARTH* would anyone buy the Xbox Series consoles now if they believe almost all the future big Xbox games are going to be ported to PS5 and they're available to PC too?
Unless you're using it as a game pass machine?
Pro tip to play games at 4K 60FPS or higher res.
1. Buy an RTX 3080 or RX 6800 when they launch.
2. Buy an intel 10900K OR zen 3
3. Buy 32GB RAM and NVME SSD
PROFIT! Oh wait, you don't wanna spend that much money? Then stop crying a 499 console can't do it.
Hey! Ubisoft were right, people are getting used to not having owner ship of stuff.
In this case, people are getting used to not owning Ubisoft shares!
PS5 avg 38 FPS, xbox about 40
PS5 has higher resolution than Series X
Shadows slightly better on PS5 than series X
So far PS5 version of Dragon's Dogma 2 is the 'best' for console, but if you've a decent PC then obviously that's the platform to go for.
My favourite part of the console war is how everyone is talking about native resolution when we're living in an era of upsampling and image reconstruction technology.
Xbox PRO business strategy right now:
1. Make game pass more expensive on console
2. Port your biggest games to PS5
3. Miss out on Black myth, Helldivers 2, etc
4. Miss out on smaller games like capcom marvel collection
5. Day 1 games on PC
6. confuse fans with messaging
How "we want a competitor works"
1. I'd buy AMD if they had better hw/sw
2. AMD improves
3. Nvidia launches product
4. AMD is slightly worse in X, I'll buy if they're cheap
5. AMD sells cheaper
6. I wonder if Nvidia will lower their price to match
7. *person buys nvidia*

Sony = shows a blog post on how ONE aspect of an open world design is enhanced with next gen consoles.
Kotaku - "lolz it's just clouds, not the IO requirements for flight, lighting..."
Why are we back to "what is the point in the PS5 Pro" again?
I'll ask the same question as I did previously - what's the point in a better TV? What's the point in an iPhone 15 Pro max if you own a 13?
What's the point in an RTX 4090 if you own a 1080?
I'm really happy with my info being right. Infinity cache (including amount, memory configs), clocks, 50 USD cheaper than the rtx 3080 right, performance numbers and so on.
@bgolus
I'm literally begging for AI to stop being crammed into everything.
Sometimes I just want to do something really basic. I don't want 'extra help' I just want it the tool to do the real basic thing.
It's like picking up a hammer and having it suggest alternatives to nails.
I'm seeing a lot of people rage about this article without reading it. Xbox charges similar fees according to the article itself.
Here - I don't blame Xbox or Playstation (as both do it), but I am frustrated with headlines pushing console fan wars.
People saying crap like "PS5 can't influence AMD's roadmap" literally seem to have fallen into a coma and just woken up and forgotten about things like PS4 Pro's Polaris GPU having some vega features
Or AMD confirming PS4's 8ACEs influenced their desktop roadmap
Lessons I hope people have learnt with consoles.
1. How heat exchange works.
2. Silicon evolves over time
3. Engineers at Sony & MS probably know more than some random dude
4. Constraints in design exist
5. Stop worrying over every bit of FUD
6. Buy wtf you want and play games
Why on earth are people taking 380billion intersections for the Xbox Series X and saying they stomp an RTX 2080 Ti's only' 10 billion gigarays. they're totally different measurements.
@IGN
............. this isn't right. XSS runs at 3.4GHZ with SMT enabled for a start according to Microsoft. What about intra CCX latencies, cache latencies, what custom tweaks are on the architectures?
The series S is an amazing console though, Microsoft got a LOT right with it.
I swear people are so desperate to make negative news of one console or another. NOW there's a stupid rumor PS5 doesn't support HDMI 2.1. YES IT DOES. The Sony employee said it's not necessary to enjoy the product, but it IS supported.
Getting a lot of DMs about the size of the fan on the PS5. Yeah, larger fans move more air at slower speeds basically, so they don't need to run at such high RPM to move air.
The fans and heatsinks are all about maximizing surface area tbh
I am once again asking for the PS6 to offer disk drive support.
And the ability to put in PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and 5 games in and play them with an emulator.
A *HUGE* ask because of stuff like expired licenses, but oh boy - would that be incredible.
@Tidux
Yep. RDNA 3 is almost confirmed by me now. My original source said it, but then another basically confirmed it. I also know some stuff about the CPU / APUs too I might pop up this weekend.
Can't wait for someone to pull a post from like 6 months ago to make a shitty case of OMG PS5 is RDNA 1!!!!! based on stuff that has already been proven to be complete trash and rubbish by like a two second google.
Hey thanks to everyone who let me know about the upsampling PS5 patent, and had planned to put out a video (i'd done all the recording) but wanted to do a bit more research. Video up today.
And yes, PS5 does have Machine Learning (as I'd already leaked)
The biggest frustration is quite frankly the shitty way Sony has been holding back info this gen. It has been ultra frustrating. Road to PS5 event was handled like crap.
Even now we don't know the custom stuff on PS5 GPU. It's the custom stuff which is what is interesting.
I love how people are suddenly freaking out that the PS5 is really cool and quiet. I mean, I have been saying this for MONTHS and even made a video documenting how the PS5's APU and console was tested
The biggest mistake CD Projekt made in my opinion is their lack of showing off the game on the base X1 / PS4. I think it's worse than releasing the game with bugs, glitches, performance issues, crashes, or anything else really
Xbox sales are up 232% YoY which is pretty damn good, and PS5 sold 7.8 million units.
Imagine how they'd sell without manufacturing constraints. I can't wait to see how both systems do when games start releasing later on in the year.
There's rumors going about that the PS5 has a 1TB hard drive with the 825TB figure being the amount of space left after OS reservation.
No. That's not how the SSD functions on the PS5. It's 825GB total space.
@Kotaku
Kotaku - "EVERYONE should be able to play games, regardless of skill level"
Also, Kotaku - "EASY mode of the game is TOO EASY! Errr don't worry about normal mode"
Consistency of message and opinion FTW!
This 'leak' seems legit! totally scrapping all the work on Spiderman 2 to switch to unreal engine 5, despite the studios own engine being one of the best in the business.
In case people can't tell, yes, I'm being sarcastic.

"It's soooo big" said Jim Ryan
"I know," said Cerny with a glint is his eye
"Will it fit?" asked Ryan, concerned.
"We'll make sure it does," grinned Cerny.
And that's why the PS5 case is so big, to fit the huge ass fan and cooling solution to reduce noise.
How Sony won the console war:
1. By not constantly throwing itself off the nearest cliff every single week.
It's like Xbox actively looks for cliffs to hurl itself from.
So now there's rumors Sony will be buying Square. Rumor is that MS is going to be buying like EA or capcom or something.
Damn If this is true, it's going to be a weirdass situation in gaming in a few years. :/
AC Valhalla needs an RTX 2080 to hit 30FPS 4K on PC apparently. And people are wondering why consoles can only do this haha.
Again, I use this as my case of please let's just make upsampling great and save massively on rendering budget per frame
If you look closely, these are just some of the xbox games coming to PS5 (and of course PC).
Not being harsh to xbox, but this wasn't the kinda tweet they should have made given how many ports they are doing for their own IPs.
There's a lot of confusion regarding the
#PS5
and VRS. I want to make it clear - the PS5 DOES support VRS. Geometry Engine doesn't = no VRS. VRS is part of the PS5.
"No one can buy a PS5"
Meanwhile 1 million have been actually sold in the UK alone. And yes, if they get sold to scalpers, they do get into the hands of gamers. Scalpers don't buy them to throw them over a cliff.
MYTH - Xbox games like Hellblade are reaching only 30FPS on series hardware.
FACT - Games are hitting 60FPS FPS on xbox hardware. the 60FPS is just divided, 30FPS on the Series X and the other 30FPS on Series S.
At the risk of being dragged into console wars again, PLEASE stop with the XSX being only RDNA 1 with Ray Tracing rumor now. It's RDNA 2. The block diagram that Xbox released is still heavily NDAed, and we can't see a lot of stuff on the die. It's RDNA 2 confirmed by Xbox and AMD
I love how there's this big conspiracy theory that Sony is paying for Black Myth to be delayed on the Xbox consoles.
The devs have said its optimization issues: read between the lines, the Xbox Series S RAM is causing grief.
Notice PC specs here 1/?
I think what we're learning about today is that IF Microsoft wants to throw their money about, there's not much to be done.
It's amazing Sony are hanging in and beating a company with essentially infinite resources tbh. Let's see how Sony strikes back.
2/2 sony is running the gpu at 2230mhz. Oh wow. So high. Almost as high as the RDNA 2 class GPUs on desktop hitting 2500MHZ.
This is actually painful to read with how the same stuff keeps being bought up again, and again, and again by people who fail to grasp basic engineering
I find it astounding people are surprised the PS5 APU is Oberon. Like well done, silicon revisions exist. Which is basically what has been said for months
The question isn't the naming scheme, it was the disabled features. And overclocking isn't a thing. 1/2
@jacksonhinklle
@RockstarGames
Are you doing this for engagement bait? You realize there's literally an adults only rating on the game right?
Are you going to say Saw movies promote violence to kids?
Back in 2006, Nvidia enabled SLI for gamers to put multiple GPUs together to game at higher FPS and resolutions.
In 2024, RTX 50 & RDNA 4 will allow you to SLI PSUs to power a single card!
I honestly thought now the consoles and so on were announced, things would calm down.
Instead Microsoft buys Zenimax, rumored to be buying Sega. Sony is apparently rumored to buy Ubisoft.
Panik!
I *REALLY* don't understand why suddenly everyone is questioning why PS5 Pro will release (it will, devs have access to documentation)
And who it's for? It's a beefed up PS5, so same as Xbox One X or PS4 Pro was for. People in the ecosystem who want better graphics / higher FPS
For the people asking, I do NOT KNOW if the XSX has the infinity cache. I was specifically hinted PS5 has something like it, it's why a long time ago I mentioned about how important cache coherency and CPU caches structure being different on PS5.
@Dealer_Gaming
Xbox was designed to be basically identical to desktop with custom. Sony had custom hardware not designed around desktop, but with basically similar features.
I mean really this is how we knew it would be if anyone had paid attention tbh. Ps5 is pure custom RDNA 2
Like guys - the PS5 Pro can play the same games, but with better visuals and more stable frame rates.
Easy question:
1. Do you want better looking games and like playstation = Yes buy PS5 Pro.
2. No, I am cool with base visuals = don't buy PS5 Pro.
Simples.
