Something exciting happened on Monday! While there might be some embellishments and inaccuracies, it’s still a great opportunity for me. Just to clarify, I’m not a neurosurgeon (yet), but I am a global neurosurgery practitioner.
Sorry if I am a little too excited for this. Coming from the first gen that ever completed university in the family, this got me feeling overwhelmed.

indeed. Lots more to go and hoping for a fruitful year ahead.
🎓✨ Officially graduated from
@HarvardPGSSC
at
@harvardmed
! After 3 years, I’m proud to be the first from Malaysia to complete this program.
Thanks to my family, mentors, sponsors, and friends for the support. Excited for the next chapter! 🌍💼

Cant understand why most of them missed the point. I seen many of my female colleagues and friends get called ms, amoi, cik, puan but all male doctor get called doctor. Such ingrained patriarchy is the issue here.
Ecstatic to leave behind 2 years of remote work and dive back into the vibrant buzz of Boston! 🎉 Embracing a world of new possibilities as the incoming senior admin fellow and fellow for justice, equity, and antiracism.

So true man! So many of my friends get called cik, puan and even amoi but none of the male doctors get called bro / tuan also. Not that we care about the title. The issue here is the ingrained patriarchy as u mentioned. Somehow everyone missed it
Congratulations Dr.

’s 2017 talk on global neurosurgery sparked my passion and set me on an incredible journey. Now, as his fellow at
#WFNS2023
, coordinating these pivotal sessions feels like coming full circle. Thankful for the inspiration that’s turned into a pathway of impact.
Building an effective trauma system requires engagement with the community and involvement of multiple stakeholders. It doesn’t have to start with expensive modalities, we can always work on low-cost and low-difficulty interventions and work from there.
We had a meaningful discussion with
@DGHisham
and his team yesterday. It is great to hear about the plans for Global Surgery in Malaysia.
Thank you for all the amazing work you are doing. We look forward to more partnerships and collaboration in the future.
@keepark
My 38-year-old cousin passed away recently due to Lung Cancer, and a close friend was newly diagnosed with Breast Cancer. It reminded me of what a short and unpredictable life is.
Don’t forget to do your yearly check-up and do self-examinations frequently.

Churches already have that, man. Tak faham, why need to regulate people getting married, though? But they should consider opening free classes for young couples to handle their finances. So many people are getting divorced due to financial issues these days
Great talk today. Nice to hear representation from Malaysia and thank you
@HarvardPGSSC
for organizing this and dr
@keepark
for moderating. We need to generate more focus on equitable quality surgical care in Asia Pacific.
I don’t know Dr. Paul Farmer personally, nor have I met him face to face before, but his work has inspired me, like many others, to do what I am doing now.

Wow, that is amazing, but on the other hand, it's about time they increased teachers' salaries. We are losing good teachers because of it. It’s already 2023, but the pay is like the 1970s.
Had a great time moderating the PGSSC Global Surgery Research Seminar today. Both speakers were amazing and discussion at the end especially was very insightful. “Whose story are we telling?” really resonate well with me

How to not love this view? A few months are left until I am leaving this place. I am definitely going to miss this view.

Personally, I cant wait for the first edition JGNS.

Nice to see a student who still has faith in our system. I still think our ho-ship training is fantastic. The personal cost can be crazy, but if you want to be good fast, it is one way to go. I enjoyed my ho-ship (I wouldn't want to repeat it, though). Met some amazing friends.
“Find your community.” Such a special take-home message from our anti-racism curriculum today at
