Rabble Chorus 2023 roundup…
12 gigs this year inc 3 festivals, a secret wedding & a huge viking funeral.
Very proud to announce we raised £2650 for local foodbanks, and continued to help lift people around the world out of poverty via
@lendwithcare
microloans (see below).
@RoadsideMum
Lets think about why a government might pay a middle man company £30 so they can give an impoverished child £5 worth of food.
Lets think about why they wouldn’t just give the impoverished child’s parent the £30 directly.

Two black SUV drivers who saw the No Entry signs at Dunquin saying 'Route for Pedestrians & Sheep only' & decided it didn't apply to them, one burnt out their clutch trying to reverse up before getting rescued by tractor 😆
@Wankpanzer
Those red lights in the distance are the stalled BMW whose driver drove deliberately & scarily fast & close to me & my dog just two minutes before.
It's like the thoughts in my head came true..
Local car park next to the field where the drowning cows & calves had to be rescued, next to the care home that the fire brigade had to help evacuate with a boat. Worst floods ever. Last year we had the worst severe drought & wildfires ever.
#climatechaos
can you see it yet? 🙄
@fesshole
Hey, don't worry. Just buy another box. The woman you finally meet will be pleased that you are mature & caring enough to be prepared & thoughtful of her health & won't make her go through the awkward process of trying to ascertain whether you are a decent type or not.
@CAIreland
Its not remotely disappointing, its a fabulous moral stance to take. You are seriously out of touch with the majority of us.
Signed a rural person.
@Schreiberland
As a kid I had an invisible soldier friend in old red tunic uniform, he lived behind the wardrobe & would come out & join me for tea parties. The house was used by the local regiment in the early 1800s & a soldier had drowned in our pond. My mother filled it in & he was gone.

You didn’t know that several private schools have hunt packs? This is why its been so bloody difficult to get hunting with hounds banned in the UK despite the ferocity with which rural police & farmers will go after hare coursers from the traveller communities.
@yamihere333
@Kissmyazz24
You’ve no idea what you are talking about, I & millions of other women run our own businesses, pay our own mortgages & bills without any help from the state or men 🙄

This is the thing I worried about when I found a crow in our field walking around with a broken neck. I fed him & tried to look after him for the day before I could get him to the vet but knew they would probably put him down so took him back to say goodbye to his friends 😢😢😢
@HPS_Vanessa
@xr_GPsAndElders
I can so identify with this. I once accidentally took a very large spider to college, which would have been fine, but I had not anticipated the absolute panic & chair throwing carnage that would ensue when I took my coat off in the canteen & showed everyone.

@LotusZYO
@rach262003
Yeah this idea that pre 1960s ‘original’ feminism was somehow better than feminism today is rubbish I’m afraid (I’m old). Men only prefer olden days feminism because women were still very much not equal yet as a result of it & society was still very male orientated.
Asked a nerdy question about dead hedging on the NHM Facebook page & used this pic of one we built in the meadow just to illustrate & BOOM, within 2 days it had 10K likes & shares & 820 new followers on our Instagram page! Who knew dead hedges were the next viral trend??! 😆
@elvedin
@kelkord
Sadly I don’t think they will because their lives will be much much harder due to climate and biodiversity crashing, they’ll look back at us and wonder why we didn’t use this time to try and reset our damaging economies & industries.
@deansmele10
@MetMattTaylor
Then you haven't thought this through. Extreme heat combined with the drought conditions much of the country is in is ruinous for crops & livestock. Our infrastructure is not designed for it either. You may feel differently when you start going hungry!
Glastonbury festival site Mon a.m. A big improvement from the last few years in terms of rubbish left. As per there seems to be an organised attempt to discredit young people with old pics from the worst years being touted as current. Always wonder who & what they gain from it?
@UKLabour
No, you are on the wrong side of history here. So bloody disappointing. Stop trying to be Tory-lite. The climate & biodiversity crisis is the biggest issue facing all of us, step up for chrissakes.
@DWPgovuk
@VotePursglove
This is laughable frankly. Benefit fraud is minuscule in comparison to Tax evasion. You could go after the big tax evaders & fund an entire new govt ministry on the gain. We all know why you won’t though….
@BrentToderian
@orridge_anna
The fact that people pay an absolute fortune to go on holiday at centerparcs because they leave their car on the outside & live for the week within walking & cycling distance of facilities. There is no road traffic so kids can be independent etc. Why is that not the aspiration?
@Tweetsnwhatnot
My daughter was 14 this summer when she had to get up at 5 a.m for something, she was completely OUTRAGED with me that it was light, like I’d failed to tell her something crucial. I was bemused she didn’t already know tbh!
@00dodge
@michaelmezz
Yup.
If all the outraged people got outraged about the actually outrageous things already happening due to fossil fuel use climate activists could go home & we’d all win.
So to get you started…
Honestly I can’t imagine a more terrifying & horrific way to die than falling in to the freezing English Channel in the dark & drowning.
Shame on every vile sub-human on social media celebrating the deaths of those poor souls today.

Yep, we have 12 acres including wildflower, nettle & thistle areas which are usually thrumming with insect life at this time of year but insects are very sparse. Plenty of spiders & a fee meadow browns are about but very very few bees.
@Femi_Sorry
@pritipatel
If hundreds of thousands of us block the streets dressed as human statues and just stand still & silent they’ll be in a right old quandry 😆
@Conservatives
Oct 21, TORY MPs voted to BLOCK the lords amendment that would have required water companies to reduce the sewage going into our rivers & coastal waters.
JAN 23 TORY MPS voted to allow sewage release into our rivers & coastal waters FOR THE NEXT 15 YEARS
Stop lying.
@lbatc2_lou
The regular morning yell of horror was the sound of Arthur Dent waking up and suddenly remembering where he was.
Four Seasons Total Landscaping.
15 degrees in London today
@pritipatel
, if you think that everything is hunky dory with our climate you are batshit insane I’m afraid.
So, as an eco-activist, I personally pledge to be carrying on being a pain until your govt starts taking the situation seriously.

I don't think there could possibly be anything more quintessentially Tory than forcing an unelected millionaire oligarch with multiple residences around the world on a nation of people buckling under a cost of living crisis & needing to use food banks & warm centres

Quite jealous of my partners very ordinary suburban garden that he has just left to its own devices the last two years. Absolutely full of wildflowers & bees. The development must have been built on a meadow I reckon to have such a great seed bank sitting dormant.
#wildflowers
@pegharpham1
Ha! I have an evil neighbour a few doors down who convinced the landlord of my actual neighbour that I had stolen some of their garden & accompanied them round to my house all smug & sneering. She left fast without apologising when I showed them the plans that proved I had not 🙄
Is it just me that can never understand how birds & animals stay looking so clean & fresh all the time?
I’ve not changed since I was a toddler & get grimy & scruffy within ten minutes of playing outdoors 😆
Seeing all the racist accounts desperately posting a copypasta disclaimer this morning to try & avoid arrest because Dan Wootton said it would work (it won’t) is amusing so this made me laugh even more.
@FreeBesieged
@e_m_bent
@Tesco
Maybe she didn’t have 3 kids back then? Maybe she had a partner that helped? Maybe she had a parent alive who isn’t now, lots of people lost older family members & partners during the worst of the pandemic. It doesn’t really bloody help her right this minute does it ffs.
@openDemocracy
How about the govt just take proper action on the climate & biodiversity crisis instead so all the eco protestors can just go home & we all win?
@CA_TimB
@ChrisGPackham
He’s not wrong though, the vast majority or rural dwellers absolutely are against hunting. I’m rural born & bred & like many millions of others absolutely applaud the RNLI’s moral stance on not taking dirty money, thats why their funds have shot up since this was shared🤷🏼♀️
@RachelConnoll14
Yep. Watched a young male friend of the family becoming radicalised online along QAnon lines, proper disturbing. He lost his long term partner over it, I kept engaging with him gently & he did come back from the brink eventually for whatever reason so I’m glad I did!
@ACMatt93
Thanks for sharing, great example of what meteorologists mean when they try to explain global heating makes weather events more extreme, there is literally more energy in the weather system. Awful to see the carnage.
@BBCPanorama

@BBCiPlayer
Environmentalists have never called Drax ‘Green Energy’, this is a completely misleading title for something seriously problematic we’ve all been yelling about for years.
@John_Milner
@JustStop_Oil
What do you suggest? What are the opportunities for scared ordinary people? Given there have already been 50 years of people doing polite protest, writing letters to MPs, books, research, standing for election, etc.
All ideas welcome.
How climate activists are treated elsewhere.. This is the 12 year old who interrupted the Cop28. Bit different to here, you get arrested just for singing now ☹️

The Daily Mail? 😆
Wrote it for you…
“Woke BLM teens skip lessons, demand rights to carry knives in school without being searched. “This is racist oppression” yelled Megan Markle lookalike ‘Maya’, 16, flaunting a skimpy school skirt that left nothing to the imagination”
This is a friend of my sister. He's an accredited press photographer, not a protestor. It is deeply alarming that under this govt we no longer have freedom of the press where any sort of climate protest is involved. Can y'all see how powerful fossil fuel interests are yet?
#Cop27
Some fine footage of yesterday’s arrest. My additional concern is that three male officers turned up at my house, woke my wife and daughter, and searched it at 11pm. I finally arrived home at 3.30am.
@TheBPPA
@Storypicagency
Where are all the moths? Not here anyway ☹️ When I was a kid I couldn't leave the doors & windows open at night with a light on indoors because moths & insects would come in & batter themselves against the light bulbs & I'd get upset & try & rescue them. Not one tonight 🤷♀️
@Bobildo1
@_NatashaDevon
The issue was rather that the Ukrainians didn’t stop the tanks etc, they stopped the easier logistics targets behind, those carrying supplies. An army fights on its rations & fuel, without those it cant last.
@BBCBreaking
He wasn’t an ex police officer when he did it, he was a police officer.
If I was arrested & imprisoned tomorrow I wouldn’t be described as an ‘ex’ choir leader. Stop pandering to the

brief pretending they didn’t harbour their mate with the bants nickname ‘the rapist’
@JuliaHB1
OK this is just bizarre levels of denial now. If you’re ever in Suffolk please come visit & I’ll talk you through some of the climate effects already happening in our little corner of the world. But if you are more brave go to the places that insurance companies have written off.
It doesn't look 'pretty' but here's our flood meadow doing what it's supposed to, holding millions of litres of water back from flooding the villages downstream. We've had help from the Environment Agency to get it to hold more. They aren't to blame for climate chaos flooding 🙄
@GMB
@Feargal_Sharkey
Pretty much every Tory MP voted in 2021 to block an amendment that would have required water companies to clean up their act.
The same Tory MPs voted this January to allow sewage dumping for the next 15 years.
They are a disgrace.
@TheDaily1BirdY
@RosieWoodroffe
It was dead when she found it but the tide washed it out, now its been washed back in again. They are super rare to study hence the excitement.
@ChrisGiles_
Went to Paris with my 15 yr old. No probs going out. Coming back we went thru 1st French gate fine. I was ahead of her & went through the British gate, she got stopped & taken off elsewhere because we apparently don’t let under 18s use electronic passports. Its all pathetic.
@SkyNews
Glad they manned up & arrested him. About time this behaviour was treated seriously in Spain, imagine trying to do your job & being pawed at & disrespected like that?
@bencaldecott
Disagree. If govt ministers are going to repeatedly come up with environment destroying policies & repeatedly speak ‘mistruths’ about the damage being caused then they ARE liars. Why is it deemed socially acceptable to lie & damage our biosphere but not to call it out?
@mrjamesob
Struggling to have sympathy for someone who brings back delicious treats & goodies from her holiday & SELLS them to friends & relatives. Presumably paying no import taxes, basically a middle class smuggler.
@AngloScot2
@ParisDaguerre
They refused to pay a an agreed debt to the Iranian govt for 40 years. Then refused to pay it even harder once the Iranians offered prisoner release in return. Then Boris Johnson as Foreign Secretary bumbled into it, implied Naz was a spy & made things even worse for her. Etc.
@AntheaTurner1
Did you honestly mean to tweet such an unpleasant cartoon? This makes you look like the nastiest entitled bully. Are people supposed to admire you for your ‘bravery’ in being so vile? I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would choose to be this mean in public.
@AyoCaesar
@Tehan123
And tbh, as a white XR activist we are well aware that it is precisely BECAUSE we have some privilege in regard to police & courts that we are morally bound to be the ones who stand up first & take the hit.

Yes that baffled me, clearly they are absolutely not a ‘high fertility’ couple, they are a high ‘requirers of invasive technology to achieve both pregnancy & birth’ couple.
@cally22001
@MrFortesClifton

I think the whole expecting your friends to shell out a fortune to attend anything wedding related is absolutely appalling tbh. Get over yourselves people, if you insist on wanting to do something super expensive & have friends join you then pay for them to attend!
@claudiapyne
@RoadsideMum
Ah yes, the old ‘poor people are greedy feckless idiots who don’t care for their children’ mantra.
Not like other elements in society who stick kids in boarding schools from age 5 whilst they swan off ski-ing, shooting & building their investment portfolios eh?
@robert_nemeth
Thats great. How do we get solar panels onto every new building too? Its insane that houses are still being built that will need complete energy retrofitting.
@ukskies
@XRebellionUK
@netpol
@kill_bill_UK
Thats it. They did the same with the art factory before the last rebellion, confiscated as much of our stuff as they could, arrested the rebels they caught, it kept them off the street during the next day, then they were let go. No charges. Just tedious tactics.
@GeorgeMonbiot
I’ve never felt as low as I do now about the situation we are in. It beggars belief that people in fossil fuel companies, govts, media etc are so money driven that they will take short term profit over the future of everything living.
Valid question of the
@metpolice
I think. Blind eye turned to littering at the Marathon too, I know because along with other XR activists I ended up clearing up after hundreds of people watching it. They just threw their rubbish on the ground & left a right mess 🙄
Littering is an actual crime and carries a fixed penalty charge of £150.
@metpoliceuk
how many fixed penalty fines for littering did you give out this weekend?
@NJSimmondsbooks
@LisforLia
Yeah but can we also find a way to prove who we are online beyond a text message with one time code in it. Lots of us in rural areas have no mobile phone coverage & can’t bloody get them!
@Carolechapman17
@GeorgeMonbiot
Same, I’ve learnt SO much about all sorts of subjects via twitter just because you can follow experts in their field & threads of conversation with other experts. Brilliant.
@GlosPolSpecOps
Really????!
You took her e-scooter away so now she has to walk/carry a kid there & back every day? And you’re proud of it?
Is that really what you all went into the police force for?
Christ.
Thats a great way of getting a kid to school & completely normal in other countries. 🙄
