Fuck me where to start. Pou’s last quarter, Liam Henry, Cal, Sinclair stepped up. The ball movement at times was like watching another version of this team, as if Round 2 and Round 17 are on alternate word lines that we’ve hopped in and out of
Hey
@stkildafc
I don’t mean to be rude but you keep playing the music after goals, which no one ever asked for, and it’s really taking away from any atmosphere and is comically long and loud and it’s embarrassing.

That Higgins goal was one of those moments that rip open the fabric of footy space and time. It just…happens and that is your footy reality all of a sudden. Happens in microdoses in every contest when there’s a small knock-on just to right place. And it happened at that moment.
Someone who gave everything in every situation, and who gave more when the situation took more.
St Kilda wouldn’t be St Kilda without people like him. RIP Danny Frawley.
Paddy Ryder in a St Kilda jumper was a rare joy of the Post-GT and Ross Eras Era. There was something so un-St Kilda-like about him. I can’t believe he played for St Kilda, wearing a St Kilda jumper.
That’s a bad night for the club. Had all the media and goodwill of the week, got the Friday night stage at home to show it all off, and we pissed it away aimless entry by aimless entry and the fans booed JHF all night.
I’m not a list manager. Obviously. I’m not involved in any officially capacity with the club. Obviously. But I really want to sarcastically say, “Well, I hope the coaches at the club enjoyed using him to generate goodwill to distract everyone from the shitty job they were doing”.
Paddy Ryder, playing Australian Rules football in a St Kilda jumper; care for the ball and your teammates; changing the angles; and the ghosts of 2009.
Our review of the best win of 2022, also featuring Marcus Windhager, Ben Long, and Zak Jones.
Richo carried himself with dignity and humility throughout everything that happened over the past six years. Whatever he does next, I hope he does well.
"If you're a Saints supporter, get excited because their teamwork and their commitment is at levels I haven't seen in a long time."
The two passages of play that show why the Saints have re-emerged this year.

I finally (re)found it. A picture of the only game we wore the candy stripe with black shorts - 2006 practice match against the Swans in Sydney (at North Sydney Oval from memory).
St Kilda statistically hasn’t played many finals. A bit of history to take in. It might only end up being a very small bit, but it will be an experience for the club and its supporters.
Been putting off this tweet for a while. The blog’s weekly reviews will be going on hiatus. Thank you to everyone for reading them and the feature pieces, and for the comments over the past 13 seasons. It’s been wonderful sharing it all with you.
Sharman’s celebration as Caminiti’s goal sailed through; Higgins celebrating with Sharman and Caminiti and Phillipou and Owens. The leaders stood up and we also now have some great highlights of the next wave coming through.
One of those fucking days hey. Where you have a big win against an historically troublesome opponent, and Cooper Sharman and Anthony Caminiti are among the best on ground.
St Kilda’s first final in Melbourne in 12 years, in Ross Lyon’s first year back, in a Year of Exploration, in the club’s 150th year, in front of perhaps the biggest St Kilda congregation in history.
Our review of the 2023 2nd Elimination Final.
So we’re just sitting around (or doing whatever the hell you’re doing) and St Kilda should be assured of playing finals but they’re just not because of that?
There’s no conspiracy. But the Tasmania talk, the problems with the coach talk, the recruiting guys walking out, the number 1 pick going behind the club’s back…of course it would be St Kilda they’re playing this week.

Sitting in the top four at the halfway mark of the season after a media frenzy; reaching the "every week" of "supporting the team every week" (and needing the bye); and Mitchito, Max and Ben Long.
Our review of Sunday:
St Kilda means the world to me. I (and
@lethalfooty
) wouldn’t have written a blog for 13 seasons about it if we didn’t consider following the Saints such an emotional undertaking we needed to process it all through writing 3,000 words every week. (This is a thread now.)
Max’s two efforts at ground level after his own marking contests to set up Mitchito’s first and then the Higgins goal (with two efforts low) is exactly the kind of thing we’re looking for in his progression.
A massive week of media hype; winning a dour match of footy; the gateway to Being Good; and Max and Snags combine again.
Our review of Saturday, also featuring the midfield, Ben Long, and Brad Hill.
So in 2024 the club has gone 10-year anniversary of The Stickman in pre-season, and has effectively gone the 20-year anniversary of the Heritage Round jumper for the clash.
I think that was the first time this rebuild (?) that we were purely looking to young guys to guide us out of the situation. And they did really good things. Long, McCartin, Clark, Coffield. As fans, dramatic games like that get you attached to those guys.

Perhaps the best win of the season. Max and Snags again (for different reasons), Josh Battle, and learning to trust and enjoy what this team is doing.
Our review of Friday night, also featuring a lot of nervous moments and avoiding a(nother) banana peel.
Mason Wood huge. Maybe something to look at going ahead. Windy huge too in that role. That’s what a good grind looks like (even when your skills are poor).
Hate to complain about umpires etc etc etc etc etc etc etc etc but that was a terrible decision also Max please stop throwing the ball around in your run-up.
All of the anticipation of the pre-season, reacquainting ourselves with match day rituals, and a big letdown.
Our first match review of the year. (Also feat. Jack Hayes.):
A day for the better parts of this team, and what it could be.
Max fucking King, Paddy Ryder (in a St Kilda jumper), career-best games, mystery ways of winning, and Callum Wilkie kicks a goal.
Our review of Sunday's win:
Spare yourself 15-minutes this morning and listen to this chat with Liam Stocker from
@TripleMRushHour
yesterday.
Such a well spoken young lad who was very open and honest about his mental health struggles and wanting to help others.
