What’s interesting to me about State Man and Constitution Hill is that they were foaled about 8 days apart, both aged 6, both got zero miles on the clock (CH 6 lifetime runs, SM 8). Both should have so much more to come.

Cheltenham is obviously better quality but Aintree a much more enjoyable meeting in that - seemingly fewer “gimmies”, other trainers get a look-in, the meeting is perfect length, and it doesn’t have millions of over-kill previews. 20 years ago, I’d never have imagined saying that
