When your wife is named an assistant

of medical education,
#proud
doesn’t begin to capture the emotion. Congratulations
@LindaSuleimanMD
on this well-deserved honor and distinction.
Been waiting for the day when I could post this meme in all its glory. Those sweet words “It is a pleasure to accept your manuscript...” make it all worth it. Never. Give. Up. on your work!
Have you ever had an experience that just takes your breath away? This happened to me at the barbershop a few months ago.
Grateful to
@PalliativeMed_j
for providing a venue to reflect on the things we carry.

2020 was hard on us all. Stressors from baby, fellowship, and the pandemic took their toll.
With a focus on consistent activity and diet, I’m proud to be down 45lbs. Most importantly I’m glad to be sustaining a 🫀 healthy lifestyle.
How it started: How it’s going:

It took 4 years... end of residency, fellowship, baby, and COVID.
But I FINALLY graduated with my

Lost my last living grandparent last week.
While loss is never easy, I’m grateful for my grandfather’s 89 years and that he was surrounded by loved ones, including his four great grandkids, in his final moments with us.

Welcome to new followers!! To introduce myself, I am a dad, a husband, and a physician

This kid is 35 years old today! 🎉🎊
As the years pass, I don’t take for granted time with family, friends, and colleagues.
This year I’m refocusing on what’s most important in life, leading with kindness and gratitude day in and day out.
Cheers to 35! 🥂

As we celebrate
#BlackHistoryMonth
, we recognize that it is a time to reflect on how far we've come but also how far we have to go.
My great Aunt Ora is a testament to this. She is living and breathing

Fresh off

and back to work!
Advanced Heart Failure ➕ Pediatric Interventional Cardiology ➕ General Cardiology Fellow ➕ Medical Student
=🫀 Dream Team!
10 years ago I was a first year medical student
@NUFeinbergMed
.
Today, it was a pleasure to teach the basics of the
#CardiacExam
to the M1s for the 2nd year in a row. Awesome engagement; excellent questions; engendering a love for cardiovascular medicine EARLY!
#CardioTwitter
I’ve felt powerless recently...like there is nothing we can do to fight the racial injustices of this world.
But that’s not true.
Every bit of effort to support our brothers and sisters helps.
@STRIVE_Mentor
is one small part in the fight of which I am proud.

Can’t contain my excitement for my 1st Medical Grand Rounds on a topic that is dear to my 💜!
AMCs must understand how to support trainees who are underrepresented in medicine.

Talk about a full circle moment!
In 2011 the cardiac module as an M1 inspired my love for

. It was my honor today to teach the M1s about the cardiac physical exam with great engagement from
@NUFeinbergMed
students.
Thanks for the invitation

Chris Wallace: "Are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups and to say that they need to stand down..."
Trump: "Proud Boys, stand back and stand by! But I'll tell you what, somebody's got to do something about antifa and the left."
When a program director like

years to making the residency program

THAT much better we have to celebrate! 🎊🎁.
Congratulations
@AashishDidwania

Happy to round out my 8th (AND FINAL!) post-graduate year doing Adv HF/Tx cardiology with amazing co-fellows and friends

Congrats to all on the fellowship match this year. I’m excited to welcome so many to the

We honor trailblazers this month and every month.

Enlightening discussions around
#implicitbias
in medicine are changing the narrative. How should providers respond when bias is
#explicit
? I share my experience in the hope that it resonates with someone in need. Know this-you are never alone. The N-Word |
My approach to writing changed in 2020. Productivity escalated when I became intentional ab focusing on what

me.
I had a goal of 30 pubs by the end of fellowship and was able to get there with 💪🏾 mentors & support.

, the rest will fall into place!
#Racism
is often subtle, and sometimes so blatant that it stuns. The words of
@QuentinYoumans
are powerful: Ten years of training and . . . no coat would ever be white enough to overcome my black skin in some patients' eyes.

Wishing this

an incredible first day back at work after maternity leave. Yara and I are lucky to have a dedicated, tenacious, and loving wife and mother always there for us.

Got the chance to meet up with ⭐️ M1
@NUFeinbergMed
@CherylMensah
today.
With an early interest in cardiology, it’s clear she’s on the right path! Just have to keep her away from
@LindaSuleimanMD
so she doesn’t get the surgeon bug 😂

It’s a beautiful day ☀️
Excited for the science, education, and fellowship with friends from around the country! Looking forward to a great weekend 👏🏾👏🏾

We have been in lockstep since M1 year
@NUFeinbergMed
in 2011, through med school, residency, chief year, and fellowship. It is an honor now to celebrate the nuptials of
@JCheemaMD
and

with

after years of postponement during the pandemic. Congratulations!👏🏾
Although the effect of a pass/fail USMLE Step 1 exam on trainees from underrepresented groups remains uncertain, the change may help diversify the medical profession, opening a world of possibilities for physicians and patients alike.
