It's no secret that "Account Abstraction" can be a bit of a confusing term. Here's an ELI5 on AA (as defined in @erc4337 ), explained in diagrams 👇

Account Abstraction modularizes the signing stack into three components: 1. Signature Scheme 2. Key Management Scheme 3. Account Rules A large focus has been on (2) and (3), such as the "MPC vs. AA" debate. Signing schemes are often overlooked, so today, let's dive in 👇

Proposal to reframe all of these TPS conversations to Gas per Second. Way more useful model. @ethereum L1 produces blocks every 12s and has at most 30m gas per block. That's 2.5m gas per second. Specifically:

Why Smart Contract Accounts? Extensibility. 1. Iterating on EOAs = development through consensus. 2. Iterating on SCAs = development through code. Crypto's moving fast. Build on invariants that can keep up with it.

Interesting implications on the 4337 bundler design space on Arbitrum as we’d see actual blocks instead of the current model of a block per transaction. Would actually help facilitate a UserOperation P2P on Arb, right now bundlers would just pass through all UOs immediately.
