Dear
@SkySportsF1
, honestly can we please have a break from Christian Horner from the pit wall. Get another team principal, there’s 9 others to choose from. If they say no then just have a break.
Am I the only one that finds Jeremy Vine on Radio 2 unlistenable? The show's purpose seems to be to find people of extreme views of an emotive subject and make them argue on air, thereby inciting anger in the listener. Easy fix, turn it off.
When BMW launch a new M car, with a 2749kg kerb weight, and you just wonder when the penny will drop and legislators realise they are pushing the auto industry in the wrong direction (spoiler: they never will).
If you own a Seat/Audi/VW and have had the exhaust changed and engine mapped so it pops and bangs really loudly when you change gear, then you’re a fucking bellend. I hope you and the arsewipes who fitted it for you are prosecuted.
A customer has created this stunning bespoke painted A110 in liquid yellow. A car he intends to keep forever, it will take pride of place in the garage next to his Singer commission. Sitting perfect on a LIFE110 chassis. 👌
It’s about 23 degrees inside your house and about 27 degrees outside, so with a simple bit of gcse physics what do you think happens when you open all the windows?
Many ask what this is, they then say it looks wonderful. Enthusiasts still get excited to see it for the first time. Some call it a Renault and make predujiced remarks, but these people are dicks who'd rather drive an Audi RS3 through town in 1st gear with the window down.
500 miles in and it’s amazing to think that nobody buys this. Quiet, fast, comfortable, fun, 34 miles as EV, good steering, good space. Is what happens when you mismanage a brand for 20 years and simply let it die.
If you like cars and driving you are also allowed to like SUVs, automatic gearboxes and have a disinterest in going sideways. Community is about having a common interest we celebrate in different ways.
Finished this fantastic spec GT today for owner Charlie who sadly died two weeks ago. His son Josh took on the task to finish it in his honour. RIP Charlie, you would have loved the finished result 👌
May have done something a little rash... I’ve bought an Alpine A110 PE as a daily driver with a plan to cover the adventures of running it on Instagram. Trips, tips, maybe even some tweakery, go follow here:
When you drive a car from the 80s/ 90s, even just a boggo 320i or something, you can't help think when did the ride on modern cars get so shit and why do we put up with it?
My small, short wheelbase A110 has a turning circle of 11.6m whereas the massive new Range Rover next to it, with its 7 deg of rear wheel steering, has a turning circle of 11.4m.

This ride height, those wheel sizes, just looks 😍. News is I've kicked off production versions of the springs I've developed, currently investigating production wheel options. Watch this space.
Here's a picture of a car I came across in Leamington in the summer. Apt to post today. People thought I was weird to be interested in it. Joke's on them now, huh.
Probably not the final wheels as these cost the same as one original Fuchs but sizes and offsets and the drive all proven now. And it looks pretty mean too.
As a 20 year veteran of German derestricted Autobahn testing I can tell you now the UK motorway network absolutely needs a speed limit. The differences in road quality, driving standards and infrastructure is enormous.
Imagine being a car manufacturer, where you are being told to make EVs that the majority of customers don’t want and then have to put on a massive positive spin as though they can’t wait to do it.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me about the A110 is how it can simply eat 200 miles more comfortably and quietly than a 911, yet it only weighs 1100kg. Oh and it does 38mpg.
Something to note on the Emira, the show car has quite a different stance to the actual driving dynamic car, thanks to a significant drop in ride height and 15mm spacers.
Found the
@harrym_vids
chat with JCB fascinating, and reinforces my current opinion that the 2030 ICE ban is not deliverable and wont deliver the intended benefit. Let the engineers solve the problem and you’ll get a much better solution than predetermining the answer for them.
Senna and Schumacher knew where the limit was and calculatingly crossed it when they felt they had to do. Max seems oblivious to it and will keep on charging past it unless someone teaches him where it is.
Fuck. The annual glue and gravel season is here. Take a shit road and make it shitterer for everyone all under the umbrella of ‘maintenance’. Fucking hate it and it makes me angry.
After months of D&D time to announce new A110 shift paddles. CNC machined these are a total redesign: closer, longer, more tactile. With a natural, intuitive simplicity to changing gear they make the A110 an even more interactive driver's car. Details on website later this week.
Buy a car and within 5 miles put it straight on a ramp to make a list of jobs. Needs two rear bump stops, passenger side gearbox seal and…a good tidy up inside and out. Oh and a rear bumper paint but I knew that anyway.
@Porketh
The harm is that car is dangerous. It won't avoid an accident, stability control won't work which is a legal requirement from new. They can do what they like but it should not be road legal.
I was warming to Red Bull and Max this year but that's now been dented. You can argue all day long about the incident on Sunday but one driver was not 100% at fault and the Red Bull reaction smacks of petulance.
Paint getting there. Soon it will be grey trim and then a set of new number plates. And because details matter I’ve ordered a replica set as the car still has the original supplying Fiat dealer plates fitted.
Seeing as my better half is now off to the USA on her own tomorrow, and I’m staying here with Covid, would it be wrong to buy a Tamiya RC car and spend a week building it?
Months of work and 1000s of miles to develop the chassis on this car. There's never a shortcut to getting things absolutely spot on. Near enough is not good enough, and I'll never compromise on that.
