This program puts young people from Albany and our Capital Region on a direct path to a career in the culinary arts.
Our beloved son, Brendan Fahy Bequette (age 25), passed away February 28th after a 20 month battle with a highly aggressive mediastinal germ cell cancer. He was the light of our lives and we will miss him for the rest of our lives. We are overwhelmed with the outpouring of love

New York State is now the first state in the country to open the gun industry up to civil action lawsuits and circumvent the disastrous 2005 PLCAA law passed by Congress.
In NY, if you’re feeding the flow of illegal guns + more, you will now be held fully accountable. Period.
I'm introducing a bill with Sen.

Before he was thrust into the national spotlight, TN Rep.

If we're going to meet our climate goals—we must accelerate the electrification of our transportation grid.
Today we said farewell to my Chief of Staff, Elissa Kane. As many of you already know, Elissa’s familiar face, determination, and unending advocacy for the people of the 109th District will be sorely missed.
🚨 Good news! Our bill passed and the public will control the future of Saint Rose’s properties through an entity called the Albany County Pine Hills Land Authority (ACPHLA).

NY & CT now lead the nation on this issue.
#GunControlNow
Grateful for the leadership of the Sandy Hook families.
Holding the gun industry accountable is critical to ending the epidemic of gun violence – which is why I've proposed amending our public nuisance laws to hold gun manufacturers responsible for the damage caused by firearms.
✅ Thank you all -- I am incredibly grateful to the voters of the 109th District for again placing their faith and trust in me as your NYS Assemblymember -- during what is a particularly difficult and polarizing time. I am so proud to represent each of you in the state Assembly.
🌆 Our community has been clear: we need to reimagine I-787's relationship with

A 787-free Albany could look like this:
🚨🚨🚨 Ruling this law as constitutional, crafted by

In a major victory, a federal court affirmed my office's right to hold gun manufacturers accountable for the devastation caused by guns.
As we mourn the innocent lives lost in Uvalde, Buffalo, and across the nation, this is a moment of light and hope.

Agreed. Let’s get a serious feasibility report on reimagining I-787 in downtown
#Albany
to reclaim the waterfront for the neighborhoods that have been cut off from it.

Black and brown neighborhoods have been disproportionately divided by highway projects or left isolated by the lack of adequate transit and transportation resources.
In the Biden-Harris administration, we will make righting these wrongs an imperative.

It is the honor of my life to represent you and your families in the New York State Assembly, and I look forward to continuing our work.
🛑 All across New York State, too many families experience the pain of losing loved ones to traffic violence.
We need to pass the Crash Victims Rights and Safety Act—all 8 bills—including mine to increase state $$ for complete streets projects.
Safe streets are a policy choice.

⚡️ Right now, NYers are paying through their utility bills for new fossil fuel infrastructure to the tune of $200M every year.
With more than 50 cosponsors—let’s stop incentivizing the expansion of gas infrastructure and save NYers 💰 at the same time by passing the
#NYHEAT
Act!
#Albany
is the oldest continuously chartered city in the United States — yet access to the Hudson River’s waterfront that fueled our city’s early growth and resulting first charter in 1686 — remains out of reach.
It can — and should — be different for New York’s Capital City. ⤵️
🔌 We just passed my legislation that will require New York State's vehicle fleet to become 100% electric! The transportation sector is one of the largest contributors to carbon emissions, and having the state lead the way will help further accelerate our transition to EVs.
🛣️ Now onto the Governor's desk! Thank you to
@SenKennedy

@NYC_SafeStreets

It's simple: complete streets save lives and make our communities safer.
Looking forward to this becoming law!

NY's budget isn't complete without the

New Yorkers should not be paying more than $200M every year to subsidize new fossil fuel hookups.
It's incongruent with our climate law and unfair to NY families.

🗽 On Wednesday I was sworn in for another term serving as your
#109th
District Assemblymember as we began this year's legislative session. Thank you once again for your continued support and I look forward to tackling the host of serious challenges we face as a region + state.
Developing a statewide gas service transition plan aligned with the state’s emission targets and ending ratepayer subsidization of fossil fuel infrastructure, coupled with

🚨 The New York State Assembly just passed my legislation establishing a
