i will be looking into this more, dpw told me a few weeks ago that they didn’t have any funds in this year’s budget for raised crosswalks in my ward. i was quoted 30-50k per raised crosswalk so that means almost 700k to remove the bike lane which would be fiscally irresponsible

We know DPW is doing their best, but days after the last storm there are still city-owned areas that are impassable for pedestrians, cyclists, wheelchair users. @PVD311 check out the Point St Bridge. This sidewalk is imperative for people to cross – they can't use the roadway.

GOOD NEWS: A new contract for the ATU ( @RIPTA_RI 's driver union) was just approved by the RIPTA board! The new starting rate for paratransit drivers is $25.33, up from $21.71, an increase of $7500/yr. All other drivers getting a $1 per hr increase. RIPTA will also pay for CDLs.

Yesterday afternoon, emergency services were called to a building on Clifford Street. We observed a fire truck drive up the bike lane because of car traffic and the ambulance. Great example of how two-way urban trails can improve emergency response, not prevent it.
