Not a fan of this. Gavi is 19 and has played almost 8300 senior mins, for club and country, over the last 3 years. That’s more than ninety full 90s. All due respect, but Spain are playing Georgia and Cyprus, I’m sure they can find someone to cover for Gavi in these qualifiers.

Celtic fans who underrate Mooy just because he's 31 and not playing in a top 5 league are going to be in for a treat. He may not be a guaranteed starter in this Hoops midfield, but technically, he's as good as anyone in the SPL and is capable of winning games singlehandedly.

The emerging reports that Championship clubs have shown interest in Sam Silvera don’t surprise me one bit. Silvera’s had an excellent season, but I reckon THAT performance in the GF, in particular, is what raised his stocks substantially and caught the eyes of European clubs. 🧵

This is no midfielder. A good player but a midfielder is people like Federico Valverde, Eduardo Camavinga, Toni Kroos etc who run the channels, pick the ball up from deep and progress it from deep positions. This is a striker and there’s NOTHING wrong with that

The A-League doesn’t do anywhere near enough advertising during pre-season. It’s the longest off season in the sport, there’s plenty of time to do interviews, articles, and simply promote the ALM. Outside of transfers, it’s been just reposting of old goals and nothing else.

Nick Montgomery joining Ange’s Spurs as an assistant coach is by far my favorite move of the off-season so far. As much as I would’ve loved to see him back in the A-League, this could be a game-changing opportunity for Monty, who has everything to be a coach at the top level.

Probably in the minority here, but I actually disagree. People just focus way too much on the managers that were “big names” during their playing days. If you take a look at the EFL, you’ll find some exceptional, young, English coaches, that are doing fantastic things.

Kevin Muscat being linked with the Rangers job shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone. Bar a short spell with Sint-Truidense, he’s been successful everywhere, evolving as a coach as time goes on and winning titles in different countries, while playing a good brand of football.

Experience obviously the big caveat, but I like the idea of McKenna to Chelsea. His in-possession/OOP (325/442) approach is actually similar to the one that Poch used in his final games. He’s also shown adaptability and the willingness to make adjustments when required.

Irankunda is obviously the man of the moment (every week now), but we need to talk about Craig Goodwin. Involved in 17 goals in 18 games this season and has been incredibly consistent throughout. I believe that he’s good enough to play in one of the world’s T5 leagues.

Tactically, the 3-2-5 that we saw from Chelsea, in the last 10+ minutes of regular time, was better than everything we’ve seen since pre-season. During the US tour, the 3-2-5 in possession system worked really well and moving away from it never really made sense to me.
