@afalkhatib
This makes me cry. These poor battered people. Finally having the relative safety to speak out. At such a high cost.
(I should clarify that I don't think Israel had a choice about responding -- they had to & at high cost. But the cost to the innocents in Gaza is high, too.)
@Saul_Sadka
Excellent point:
Pretending that antisemitism isnโt behind irrational stances against Israel and Jews is not going to work anymore. These are racists, plain and simple.

These protests are the wimpiest thing these students and faculty can do. It not just ironic, but disgusting to try to characterize them as courageous. They are exactly as "courageous" as 1930s Germans who joined the Nazis.

The US wanted to pretend Hamas and the UN werenโt lying about the famine, so they made this dramatic but pointless gesture, costing two precious Israeli lives.

Up to that point Gaza has not suffered enough.

Also Gaza has not been occupied in any sense of the word since 2005. Absolutely false that Israel "bombs or shoots at people whenever they want." In fact, However Hamas shoots missiles at Israel regularly.

It is astonishing that you refer to a terror-supporting organization that seems to have brought Gaza to its knees as doing "live-saving work." The latest is just that some UNRWA employees actively supported Oct 7 atrocities.

That is not a suitable example. Yes, it is possible in a war that sometimes the wrong people die. At the time of the three-hostage tragedy, those soldiers had been subject to numerous traps with Hamas waving white flags similarly, setting up audio of a baby crying as bait, etc

Frankly it is wrong to place responsibility upon the IDF, no matter how tragic the consequencesโ and they are tragic. There is no way around the real reason Gazans are at risk: Hamasโ repeated atrocities, with support from

It is not complicated.
