Please pray for the soul of Fr. Eugene Golas, a bi-ritual priest of the Diocese of Grand Rapids, who reposed on Tuesday. He ministered to the Greek Catholic community in West Michigan and continued to concelebrate the Divine Liturgy until physical infirmity made that impossible.

Tonight a Roman Catholic church opened its doors to my tiny Ukrainian Catholic parish, inviting all to celebrate the Divine Liturgy for the conversion of Russia, the protection of Ukraine, and reparations for the sin’s the world. Literally hundreds of people showed up.

Earlier today I spoke with a firm client looking at 25 years for a crime I absolutely believe he didn’t commit. Today was the first today in 18 he was allowed to change his clothes, shower, and have access to toilet paper. Our criminal justice system is broken.

Sometimes people act nervous/worried about going to a traditonal Latin Mass or even a Byzantine liturgy. Go. Just go. Stroll in there (reverently) like you own the place. You have a right to that liturgy; it’s not some exotic treasure to be won. Quit fretting. Just go.

I’ll probably get my “trad” card revoked, but does anyone else find the varieties of “[insert adjective here] grace” conjured up in Western theological debates to be an abomination? Most are artificial distinctions with no Biblical basis intended to “solve” false dilemmas.
