@jamiefrickengib 1) One thing that people who have successfully managed bpd do, is take accountability for their actions. Yes it’s a reason behind why, but it’s never an excuse. 2) BPD alone doesn’t make you do the things they did. They were calculated choices.

@jrawson It’s an attempt to remove the directness and to avoid feeling too personal. ‘You’ is a very direct word to say. It feels more pointed and less ‘high level’ than ‘yourself’. There seems to be an a unwritten formality with the term ‘yourself’. It’s less harsh somehow.
