@bfsooner I agree but I think Venables’ point is that they are endeavoring to mold and support these men beyond the field: meaning football and a football uniform won’t be the beginning and end of their relationship with OU. They will be developed as men, not just football players.

@TravisSkol I dunno… I don’t know much about the sitch but he convinced highly rated recruits to give up D1 offers in sacrifice to bettering HBCUs only to bail when HE was the one to get a D1 offer. I like Deion but it is all starting to feel a touch phony to me.

@jasonkersey Was he? Or was he willing to walk on for Lincoln Riley’s “genius?” Caleb Williams doesn’t owe me a thing but I owe it to myself to not go to bed AGAIN wondering if he wants to be at OU. I’d rather just ride with the kid who doesn’t mind telling us where he wants to play.
