Earlier today, OSUPD was aware of individuals lawfully engaged in an open carry demonstration on campus. Police monitored and the individuals are no longer in the area.
We recognize the great performance of DPS Communication Center Alarm and Video Monitors (AVMs) Ahmed Awale and Mohamed Hirsi. While watching surveillance cameras, they saw people getting ready to steal bikes on campus. Night watch officers made arrests before the crimes occurred.
