@CryanGrim @briebriejoy That's exactly why Trump will win again in 3 years. Turns out, "hey folks, shit's fucked up isn't it? It's ok, I'm gonna fix it" is a more effective messaging than "shit's not fucked up you stupid undeserving piece of shit, shut up & vote for me or it'll get even worse for you"

They just had a story on NPR about Aaron, he created a will before doing this act, stipulating that is life savings go to a Palestinian children's relief fund, and that his neighbor take care of his cat. Those aren't the acts of a "mentally ill" person

The Werther effect defense holds no weight here. As Thich Nhat Hanh explained in a June 1965 letter to MLK, self-immolation is not suicide, or even protest. It is a testament to one's resolve and the righteousness of one's beliefs, the ultimate expression of love for others.

Less than 1/3 of all Americans have a will, and more than 2/3 of people that kill themselves don't even leave a note. Sure, some people create wills and give away their stuff, but the point is, what Aaron did wasn't suicide, and he was of sound mind when he did it

@EricHenderson96 @conor64 @GryphonWatcher But will never know, because tomorrow is a new day and everything might change. It's awesome when you get to set up a thought experiment that is unfalsifiable

@jrpsaki Can you imagine how many fewer seats Democrat presidents would lose if they actually followed through on their campaign promises and did anything whatsoever to help poor and working people?

I'm truly asking, what is the correct moral response to a government, to an entire economic system, that is actively killing and disabling us all? Because as far as I can tell, most of us have decided that grumbling about it on the internet is sufficient.

@FenskeBrandon @calamitykamran @steelman3300 @ReagansTweets I'm not talking about a financial benefit, I'm talking about the benefit to your soul, karma, whatever you call it, you can be a landlord and you can make profit exploiting their basic human right to housing, but you can't be a good person too. I'm just trying to help you out.

I decided not to take the paxlovid I was prescribed by test to treat. Interestingly, CVS didn't call me for my appointment today. There is simply no data that I've seen that shows paxlovid is worth taking. Thanks for the positive thoughts and advice everyone, but no thank you.

@jonbecker_ @cooperlund @thehousered The union bug was a mistake in the sense that it was political malpractice and baffling, but the charter school comments to big business just showed her true colors 🐍🐍🐍

Like, this is seriously psychological fucking warfare. The amount of gas lighting we received over the past year and a half, then just with the snap of a finger the entire narrative of the pandemic gets memory holed away

Right about the time that tax returns are due this year, millions of parents are going to realize that they aren't going to get a rebate since the CTC monthly checks was a prepayment. About that same time, the official poverty rate for 2021 will be released, & a month later

Pretty fucking pissed off that I'm pretty sure I have covid and can't get a test, so can't get monoclonal antibodies, and that I have brain fog and can't think of anything clever to say. Everything sucks.

You said take off your mask, you said you wouldn't get infected if vaccinated, you said it was okay to send kids to school, you said it was okay to open up the economy. You were the one's who were uncomfortable with uncertainty. People living in reality are steeped in uncertainty

@IAmARobot0101 @ClaudiaLPersico I know there are regulations that specify how much rat feces or insect parts are allowable in peanut butter before a food is considered contaminated, is there a similar sort of regulation for heavy metal contaminants? If so, why isn't it being enforced? If not, why the fuck not?
