@NoContextHumans Taxes. You pay income taxes to the Feds, then state, then sometimes local. And then you pay state taxes and occasionally city/county area taxes again on your house, cars, gas, alcohol, groceries, clothes- pretty much on everything else you buy. And we're still TRILLIONS in debt.
