A diaspora story with a happy ending 110 years on! My grandmother Margaret Brennan said farewell to her sister,Annie,in Mayo in 1910. They never saw each other again. Annie arrived in Ellis Island with $20 and started a new life. I found my lost cousins in New Jersey this week.

Today was my final overseas office visit as CEO of Tourism Ireland. It was great to meet and say farewell to my colleagues in New York, led by Alison Metcalfe. They have done a superb job over my 14 years as CEO making the island of Ireland a ‘must see’ destination.

This is fantastic. We worked with @Disney and Kenneth Branagh to produce this wonderful video highlighting our amazing island as a film destination. Disney today have released Artemis Fowl, a sci-fi movie based on the novel of the same name by Eoin Colfer.

Delighted to hear Air Canada will fly Vancouver - Dublin four times weekly from 1 June 2022 and also Montreal - Dublin three times weekly from 2 June 2022. Despite short term uncertainties, good to see a strong picture emerging from Canada for summer 2022.

I rushed to the local bookstore to buy the new book ‘Peppa Pig goes to Ireland’ . We can’t claim any credit for this in Tourism Ireland but it’s a heart warming story in the current travel climate. There isn’t even a mention of NPHET or quarantine.
