It's noteworthy to distinguish the protest on GW's campus today from others across the country given the coalition of students from other DMV universities, like Georgetown and AU, but also its known proximity to the White House, just less than a mile away
NEW: The campaign of Sen. Jacky Rosen (D) is demanding NBC News issue a correction to a story on Amy Brown, the wife of GOP nominee Sam Brown, and her abortion, citing inaccuracies.

The lack of compensation for college journalists not only discredits the work that they do for their community but also disadvantages historically marginalized journalists the most, contributing to issues related to diversity and inclusion at the paper as well as on their staff
We've decided that unpaid internships do not work. It's time we take a look at college newspapers. We need journalists of all backgrounds. If they can't work at their college paper or take on bigger roles because of money, then we are just creating a problem for the industry.
Over 300 hours of non-stop reporting from the
@gwhatchet
, both on- and off-campus in the nation’s capital, culminated in this beautiful moment. Our photojournalism team is unmatched and will undoubtedly continue to produce amazing work in the future. Congratulations to all!

From someone who was there when arrests occurred at GW early Wednesday morning, I’m immensely proud of the reporting the
@gwhatchet
has done round the clock, no matter the time and no matter the location.
"i was sexually assaulted last semester. i cannot stay silent."
probably both the hardest and proudest thing i've written for
@gwhatchet
cw: mentions of sexual violence and suicide
PERSPECTIVE: “The first step in fighting against sexual and dating violence is quashing the stigma that inhibits its progress. We must have open conversations to develop solutions that both protect and support our community.”
It becomes painfully clear when college journalists, who are essentially now just the industry's go-to local journalists, aren't given the respect they deserve for their contributions to the community...
let alone the inadequate treatment of women in sports journalism.
I am one of four student journalists on

game this season.
But when we tried to get credentials for the Frozen Four, we were told by

that there were only two available seats. 🧵

It goes without saying to refer to reporting from student journalists on the protests occurring on college campuses
While interning at NBC News’ Political Unit, Class of 2024 member Nicholas Anastácio would attend night classes in the School of Media & Public Affairs after his shifts, which included guest lectures from those working in active political campaigns.

Although, according to recent reporting from Jezebel's

Student journalists are journalists, following the same ethics for little to no pay. As such, student journalists need their mental health and experiences addressed.

Sam Brown said they both believe mothers facing unplanned pregnancies "deserve the utmost compassion and understanding. I am pro-life, with exceptions for rape, incest, and life of the mother. Like President Trump, I believe the issue is now correctly left at the state level"
NEW: The DSCC — the Senate Democrats’ campaign arm — raised $9.3 million in total contributions in June per FEC filing. It’s up from May at $9.0 million.
The DSCC spent $7.3 million last month and entered July with $53.1 million in cash on hand.

BREAKING: LaMonica McIver wins Democratic nomination for U.S. House in New Jersey's 10th Congressional District special primary election.
#APRaceCall
at 8:30 p.m. EDT.
My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best
It's important to note that most of the competition in D.C. is in the Democratic primaries, often leaving general elections to be decided by double digits
An initiative to allow ranked-choice voting, a method of voting in which voters select a first choice candidate and then rank the remaining candidates, will be on the Nov. 5 D.C ballot. This initiative has received both support and opposition.
NEWS: Democratic Sen. Bob Menendez, who says he’s running for reelection as an independent, is found GUILTY on ALL charges in his federal corruption trial

@Wikipedia
, under the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapse article, can you change the title of this section to "Victims" instead of "Casualties" like any other bridge disaster? Also, can you add their actual names as they are human beings not just defined by their nation of origin?

NEWS: The NRSC -- the Senate GOP's campaign arm -- outraised the DSCC in total receipts in June, $18.5 million to $12.1 million.
Although, the DSCC -- the Senate Democrats' campaign arm -- ended the month with more cash on hand than the NRSC, $53.1 million to $48.3 million.

The claim that Brown spoke about her abortion "for the first time publicly" with NBC News in February is at the center of this back-and-forth, with reporting from
@SusanRinkunas
showing Brown had told her story publicly "at least three times before."
NEW: The campaign of Sen. Jacky Rosen (D) is demanding NBC News issue a correction to a story on Amy Brown, the wife of GOP nominee Sam Brown, and her abortion, citing inaccuracies.
👏 MARGIN 👏 OF 👏 ERROR
It is a must when communicating and characterizing polling results. The Biden campaign says he fares the best while the memo says the alternative Democrats “fare similarly.”
Also Booker and Whitmer have a smaller margin than him if we go by this logic.
A Biden campaign fundraising email tonight included a polling graphic comparing Biden vs. Trump to potential alternatives, including
Harris
Buttigieg
Booker
Newsom
Whitmer
Klobuchar
Shapiro
Pritzker
The inclusion of the information feels more revealing the info itself.
this is a hot take but why do i need to listen to the duolingo owl?
you're yelling at people OVER THEIR OWN CULTURE?!?

10 GOP Senate challengers are expected to speak tonight at the

, the highest at any RNC since 2000
Two of them, Kari Lake in

and Mike Rogers in

The loss of Trent Staggs in
#UTSEN
makes it the second time this cycle a Trump-endorsed candidate lost in their Senate primary. The first was in
#NJSEN
when hotelier Curtis Bashaw (R) won against Mendham Borough Mayor Christine Serrano Glassner (R), Trump’s pick in the race.
this poll is from Rasmussen Reports, sponsored by a partisan source to the GOP, with a margin of error of +/- 3.0 percentage points

Language like this contributes to anti-immigrant narratives, especially anti-Latino sentiment, and fails to accurately document an event in its entirety. A recent CNN article that mentions the full names of the victims can be found here:
I met Lambeau, Wisconsin delegate Terrence Wall’s service dog. Lambeau has been taking at least 250–300 selfies a day, Wall said.
And no, Lambeau did not meet Babydog last night - Wall coincidentally left the room with Lambeau right when Justice took the stage.
