An ICU consultant who did a 14 hr shift, was on-call through the night & then doing a 12hr shift, tried to find food and all that was around was an empty vending machine. I am upset, I want to bring in change and I am acting on it because this needs to stop! #24hrhotfoodfortheNHS

So I went into work as a Vaccinator and unintentionally became a leader of 7 vaccinating pods & vaccinating at the same time. We vaccinated 600 patients today and I don't think I have been so stressed in my life! How did that happen? 😂

I visited @MKHospital , my exemplar trust for the campaign. Their canteen is open long hours and are planning great 24/7 food provisions. Their canteen has a pitta bar, wok Station, salad bar, hot food station & most items are £2! MK showing how it is done! #NoHungryNHSStaff

Here I am 3 months premature, all I have known is to be a fighter and work hard. The NHS literally saved my life, the consultant that looked after me checked on me even after his shift and named me 'Neely' and they housed me in an incubator for 3 months.

This woman hit my car. Her husband was nasty & tried to intimidate me. 5 men in plain clothes jump out of the car to help because he was so awful & he shouts "Don't get involved, I am calling the Police." They whip their badges out and said "We are the Police, leave her alone."

When I was 10 I used to put money I saved in my Mum's purse to help her with her food shop. She found out & told me not to do it again. I used to pick up food I wanted & put it down because I knew it would be expensive and she would say take it, I said I didn't like it anymore.

We went to the @theovenbath , they let the British couple who were queuing in front of us in and when we (2 brown women) wanted to go in, we were told they only allowed in bookings...The place was empty. I was upset to experience racism like that in 2022. We never fit in do we?

My mum was in hospital for a bit and I wasn't allowed to visit her, so I gave her a picture of me and her to put on her bedside. I regret it because whenever someone commented on it, she would say "That is my daughter, she is a Podiatrist and single". 😂 Oh the cringe. 😂🤦🏽‍♀️

Baking fails. My niece wanted a chocolate cake and I haven't baked in a while. I made this whilst exhausted, unfortunately it's not to my standards. I was upset but my niece was happy, she sat in the corner and ate it. Lesson: Perfection is not always needed.

Imagine working long hours. You haven't had a break and you are starving. You have been under high pressure dealing with unthinkable situations helping patients. There is no food to access. So you have to continue starving or resort to eating junk food out of a vending machine!

I just heard King George Hospital in London have a 24/7 canteen?! London has a canteeeeen that is 24/7?! Why can't the other London NHS trusts have one too? #NoHungryNHSStaff

Went into @sainsburys and a woman who worked there making snarky comments on people who bought reduced food items. I very quickly reminded her how lucky she is not to be in that position. Absolutely horrible.

My Mum was in hospital today and a kind and wonderful Dr recognised her surname & asked her if she was my Mum. She said, "Tell Neely I said thank you for the 24/7 food, we get food trolleys every night!"

My husband isn't the romantic sort. Doesn't buy me boxes of chocolates and stuff. But he does go to the market early in the morning during mango season to get me fresh mangoes. What more could I ask for ?
