I cant understate this enough.
Emma Stone’s performance will not be forgotten. Its one of the most transcendent performances in recent memory. I have listened to most of her interviews about this film and if you could understand the challenges, youd recognize this as a dope win.
My standout performance that isnt Austin Butler this go around is definitely Zendaya. She gives Paul a look in the middle of the Feyd fight that moved me to tears.
I got mad and had to come up with a list:
Everything Everywhere
Im thinking of ending things
Never rarely sometimes always
Poor things
Bottoms
May december
Cmon cmon
Holdovers
Nope
Banshees
Tar
Northman
Bones and all
Worst person
Titane
Green knight
Shiva baby
Past lives
Most Lily Gladstone Oscar supportors are absolutely cancer on this app. I havent seen a single Emma Stone Supporter throw Lily’s performance under the bus. We dont gotta pin the queens together
This is what it must felt like walking out of Star Wars in 1977. Man oh man, Austin fucking Butler. The choice to have no score for the fight man. Denis is a titan.
since the year is almost over let’s keep the rankings going! still have some movies left to see (feels like i’ll never be fully caught up these days) but i’ve tried to put the finishing touches on my top ten favorite films of 2023 as much as possible
Bryce Dallas Howard reveals that she was paid “so much less” than Chris Pratt for the ‘Jurassic World’ sequels but that Pratt worked to correct the situation by ensuring she had pay parity on other related properties such as games and theme park rides.

Mark Ruffalo has been hiding his acting chops for awhile being held hostage by Marvel. Hes my famous supporting actor performance this year. He is the heart of the humor in Poor Things
I really hate i have to land on this side of the discourse but scenes like this id legitimately argue is a dangerous idea to put in the heads of thin people. An overweight person does not have to eat like a cartoon to get obese.
I dont think im coping:
Everything Everywhere could get like 6-7 oscar nominations.
Picture, Editing, Supporting Actor, Actress, Screenplay, Score, Director all possible to me.
Martin Scorsese says the pacing of ‘KILLERS OF THE FLOWER MOON’ is inspired by Ari Aster’s films.
“I very much like the style & pacing of good horror films like Ari Aster’s ‘Midsommar’ or ‘Beau Is Afraid.’”

bradley cooper is planning the most diabolical biopic ever. he’s going to do a voice and it’s gonna be shot in imax and it’ll have a musical number or some shit. let him cook.
Rewatched Killers of the Flower Moon. What a perfect film. Flies by. Gladstone separates herself from some Goliath-like actors. Even better on a rewatch.
Can we get acting nominations this time for Dune?
I dont know how you watch that movie and dont even consider Timmy, Zendaya, and Austin Butler as potential Oscar nominees. It was a shame not a single actor in Part 1 got nominated but i understood it.
Da'Vine Joy Randolph: "I will always pay tribute to, honor, uplift and be a part of Black storytelling, but I need to infiltrate and get in the spaces where we’re not. I want to be in a Wes Anderson movie just ’cause. I want to be in a David O. Russell movie just ’cause. Coen
Keep seeing this argument. Oppenheimer is the strongest player at the Oscars thus far, I see no possibility of Cooper stealing a surprising amount of awards. Maybe Globes, Cillian is going to sweep
Look, I want Cillian Murphy to win too. It IS the better performance, one that will last. But Bradley Cooper has the showier role and has gone a decade with tons of nominations and almost zero wins. He’ll likely take Best Actor at Golden Globes, SAG, and Oscars, prepare yourself.
I see Luke’s getting flack for giving praise to a Woody Allen movie. Hes a film critic at a film festival, I thought we got better at separating artistry from person. He liked the movie do you want him to lie? He even said he was surprised. Sounds like honest criticism
Woody Allen’s 50th film Coup de Chance is (to my surprise) his best in quite some time. A delightful swirl of genres; drama, comedy and mystery which Allen gets the balance just right. It manages to be dark, playful and breezy simultaneously. If this is his supposed final film,
Its a sad world that A24 doesnt feel comfortable fully distributing Zone of Interest when it has these amazing write ups. Glazer is one of the directors i get most excited about. Under the skin might be a top 20 film for me all time. Sexy Beast is phenomenal too
Emma Stone had the better performance.
She won all the precursors needed.
Recency bias won. I even was swayed for a bit but as i said, it was a 50/50 race and it wasnt presented as so on here.
Lily was fantastic and she will get one eventually in her career.
Cheers
Willem Dafoe says Robert Eggers’ “Nosferatu” is visually incredible: “It’s unlike anything I’ve ever seen before”
Nosferatu was shot with a look reminiscent of 19th century Romanticism. An entirely new filter was engineered by Eggers just for the film.
Yorgos Lanthimos’ ‘KINDS OF KINDNESS’ will be released in theaters June 21, 2024.
Starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer.
Jonathan Glazer. Mica Levi. Youve just made one of the most haunting films ive ever seen. The restraint goes so far in conveying the evil in front of us. That score was the closest thing ive heard to pure evil and screaming souls. Up there with under the skin.
In all seriousness if you blame Alec for a prop dude taking a gun out to a range and loading a LIVE round into a gun used for a set, youre a fucking idiot.
I’ve been playing tennis for 17 years. It’s a fast-paced game. To see slow-motion used so prominently in
#Challengers
was frustrating, along with the techno music, flimsy dialogue and outrageous New Rochelle windstorm. Terrible soap opera. Ridiculous sports movie. Double fault.
Neil deGrasse Tyson critiques how thumpers & sandworms work in 'DUNE 2'.
"You can't thump sand, if you do this to sand *slams fist* nobody else is gonna hear it... they have the worm going straight fast, no that's not how physics work they gotta curl."
