All litter isn’t intentional. Vehicle debris and trash flying out of uncovered truck beds contributes a great deal to the total amount of litter along our roadways. Cover truck beds to reduce the amount of careless litter. Learn more at
We strongly encourage you to not travel if possible. As we head into day 5 of winter weather, this may be the most dangerous combo yet. If you do drive, assume every road is icy, even when it appears clear. Side roads are a major concern, as well as bridges and overpasses.
❄️➡️Winter Weather Response Update❄️ NDOT crews are currently out plowing and salting primary routes. Drivers are urged to avoid traveling tonight if possible. If you must be on roads—take it slow and give our plows plenty of room to work.

❄️
Our crews remain on duty at this hour to keep roads passable for emergency responders & essential workers. If you must drive, SLOW DOWN, especially on bridges & overpasses.
Crews will continue to treat primary/secondary routes all night & into the morning. Stay safe,

Do not attempt to drive through flood waters! Just because you don’t see a road closed sign or high water signs does NOT mean it is safe to attempt driving through the water! We are working tirelessly to block roadways as they become impassable.
#TurnAroundDontDrown
It’s going to to be a long night for the 8 MPW crews that are out clearing roadways. We have reports of more than 80 trees down around Davidson County. Please use extreme caution when driving tonight, and avoid driving down streets impacted by this evening’s storms.
MPW crews are out treating all primary and secondary routes. Please use caution if you’re out on the roads today, especially on bridges and overpasses.
This sign was spotted outside of a home in the Wedgewood-Houston area and we cannot express how much joy these signs of gratitude bring to our sanitation workers!
