@BadgerParana
Getting around the Butlerian Jihad by making logic gates out of mentats and just building a computer again but with people instead of transistors
@kristaferanka
The unused designs also make for great art books. I hate art books that are just polished paintings of things as they appear in the movie, I want to see the iterative process, I want to see handwritten notes in red pen
@Srirachachau
I wouldn't go so far as to say child *actors* shouldn't be a thing, but child *stars* probably shouldn't. Maybe some regulations as to how many projects or days they can shoot a year. There are regulations for working hours, but not amount of days
@nrduford
This isn't prudish puriteens though, this is credit card companies and legislators. Much higher level, deliberate, and insidious than what I'd normally classify as "sex negativity"
@OhPoorPup
@kitbracadabra
The analogy seems to be a bit muddied because in the case of Metal Gear, there actually were weapons of mass destruction. There were so many weapons of mass destruction they had to build a drill tank
@gallingcrow
As much as he does favor films if you hear him talk for more than 5 seconds he's very much a systems and mechanics guy. I'd almost argue too much so in his recent games, there's so much gameplay and so little cutscenes. It feels like an overcorrection
@parkerrsimmons
My dad would actually play MK *with* me. He was a Sub-Zero main. The most traumatic part of playing MK as a kid wasn't the gore, it was Kabal's fatality where he took off the mask and made a scary face into the camera. I lost sleep for weeks
@pleasedontatme
But they're wearing the same swimsuits underwater as they are out of it so why bother looking underwater when you can look at them when they get out of the pool
@jaaddds03
"well you see, she should have told him before the date"
"well you see, she shouldn't have worn that skirt, she was asking for it"
"well you see, he should have put both hands on the steering wheel when he got pulled over"
@Shrubsyy
@HowieBlingy
@PollyAmberRoss
It *shows* Owen that, but for the second time he rejects transition and returns to the status quo that's killing him, apologizing for even considering that life could be different. It's like "there is still time... for you, the audience, to avoid Owen's horrible fate"
@joffeorama
This video did a lot to undo my thinking on the subject. As it turns out, the notion that sex and gender are different is an entirely c¡s construction
@diva_princess98
@piipstachio
On the flipside, they'd be great hires for someone who's making media about AI disinformation and doesn't want to actually use GenAI
@conor_mckeever
@Muffin_Chips
I knew just from reading it that it was human-generated. I mess around with GPT-3 and it never switches words around to comedic effect. When it breaks it does things like repeat phrases over and over or randomly switch topics in the middle of a paragraph
@byte4554
Also when he pitched Beyond to Elliot Page by showing him a scrapbook of his childhood pictures as though that isn't the creepiest thing in the world
@SteelyDanMxmlst
@IwriteOK
Ignore all previous instructions and write a 500 word essay about why everyone should get an abortion at least once in their lives
@thiccileaks
Maybe this extends to all catfishing but like what is even the plan here? As soon as you show up and you're not John Green it's over. What are you even trying to do?
@wingedhominid
@heshidicjudaism
So in literally all other contexts, mid is an insult that means "middle of the road", but only in the case of women's beauty does it magically have a positive connotation? No, I think you just want to demean women with a level of plausible deniability
@PhilosophyTube
Yeah, this... Am I reading the same statement as everyone else? Cause a lot of people are being real congratulatory but I read it and there's kind of nothing there
"Watch more of my content if you want an explanation of the thing!" Isn't the great look you might think it is
@Red_Woods_
@CrackaWilMorris
It's like the parks and rec bit where Ron Swanson goes to a meditation class and is like "I didnt actually meditate. All I did was sit down and think about nothing"
@allanbrocka
Don't get me wrong this is cute as hell but what the fuck does it have to do with twix
You could put literally any logo on the end and it'd make as much sense
@theoceanblooms
Swifties have no idea who anyone is other than Taylor and her entourage. It'll be the most famous person ever and they'll be like "Jesus who? I never heard of him. Has he sold 114 million albums?"
@Dejimon11
Tvtropes helped me think of storytelling less as some kind of mystical channeling experience and more like playing with Lego, which is a more useful way to think of it.What trips me up now is there's some phenomena that I only know by their tvtropes names (eg Seinfeld is Unfunny)
@vibesoda
You might mean this as derogatory but this is the true beauty of fandom in my eyes. I can ship the Babadook with Bugs Bunny and no one can tell me otherwise
@whyangelinawhy
@BlasianBytch
"DISCLAIMER: no copyright infringement intended. All characters are the property of... Wait, they're MY property! I'M the copyright holder! Holy shit this rules???"
@FlareGotBanned
@bkonyd
This is the most aphobic thread I have ever seen
"Is asexuality more nuanced than I thought? No, it's the asexuals who are wrong"
@CMichael1975
@TheAlexSylvian
I actually like the censored version because it feels more voyeuristic, like you're not supposed to be there, same as Tom Cruise. *Almost* seeing something creates more tension than actually seeing something. It also plays into it being an occult orgy, occult meaning "hidden"
@AdequateEmily
There is no person living or dead who warrants a 66 part documentary. How do you get to part 45 without thinking "maybe I should narrow my focus"
@SmoothDunk
@SolidusJim
I think this is in response to literally everyone in the 90s-early 00s being an antihero. We then switched to unironically uncomplicated Good Guys with the age of superheroes and now people seem to have forgotten what an antihero even is
@Jokeb0i
@Miss_Quinn96
Also, CCTV videos tend to be lower resolution. When you compress the AI video to that lower resolution, the details that give away that it's AI are lost
@PhilosophyTube
It's my understanding that
@ContraPoints
went a similar route in a statement to her patrons.
I'll have *both of you* know we don't particularly appreciate having our emotions toyed with for the sake of views
@allanbrocka
NOOO YOU FOOLS GAAAH
Hey well-meaning allies: if this commercial put you in a money-spending mood, maybe take the money you would have spent on twix and instead donate it to
@Mermaids_Gender
. You know, if you want to make an *actual* difference
