As many of you may of seen in the press today our horses & officers were involved in policing the serious disorder that occurred in Sunderland yesterday. All the horses returned back to the stables safe & well after a lengthy deployment.

Sad news now...we had to say goodbye to the most gentle of police horses Phoenix. Unfortunately he was diagnosed with an untreatable condition & in July the heartbreaking decision had to be made to let him go.He was everything a police horse should be & will be greatly missed 😢

It’s also time to introduce the very gentle Platinum… he’s a 10 year old, grey Irish draught gelding , he’s just 16.3hh but what he lacks in size he makes up in personality. He was given the name to celebrate the Queens platinum jubilee & he is proving to be a ⭐️ #newboy
