I go back to the importance of seeding. The MWC was given three ten seeds and an 11 seed including two in the First Four. Those teams went 1 and 4. The two teams that were given single digit seeds are still alive. IMO the committee doing such a bad job cost the MWC several wins.

A game against a middle of the road UNLV team sold out days in advance and bigger arch rivals like Nevada, Utah State, and Boise not tells you all that you need to know. The casual fan will come out if the start time is early enough no matter who the opponent is. #GoLobos

The Lobos aren't in a bad position actually. Six seeds beat 11's all of the time and if you win you get a 3 seed in the second round which is better than if we got an 8 or 9 seed. Maybe most importantly of all we don't play until Friday so that's time to get rest. #GoLobos

The atmosphere in the Pit has been amazing recently but it will never top this. We had 19,452 jammed into the building for this game against a great UNLV team. The students used to fill the West side all the way to the floor and the building felt like it was levitating. #GoLobos

UNLV'S win at Princeton in a true NIT road game was impressive. It was Princeton's first home loss of the season and UNLV was short handed. Princeton was coming off a sweet 16 with everyone back and were 24 and 4 going into the game. #GoRebels #WeAreInThisTogether @MountainWest

SDSU at Utah State tonight. From the point of a UNM fan I think that we need a Utah State win. SDSU still has UNLV away and Boise at home but they own UNLV and nobody is beating them at home. UNM goes to Utah State later and a win there gives them the tiebreaker. #MWC #GoLobos

Then they started playing the in conference games that according to the committee aren't supposed to count as good Quad 1 wins.... unless you play in the SEC, ACC, BIG, and Big 12 then they do count as good Quad 1 wins.

UNM was forcing turnovers and scoring off them but that stopped after the 1st Nevada game. Pitino was playing 10 and 11 players but once the conference season started that number reduced to seven. That worked just fine for January but since then we have run out of gas. #GoLobos

There's a positive to yesterday's loss: We still make the NCAA's but drop to a 12 seed. Upset the 5 in the 1st round and get a 4 in the next round instead of the one that an 8 or 9 seed would have gotten us. Win that and it's off to UNM's 1st round of 16 in fifty years! #GoLobos

What does worry me is not can House step in and run the offense he will be 100% fine. I don't think we beat them with a 7 man rotation and we have only been playing 8 with Dent. The Lobos will need quality minutes from Webb or Mushila possibly a few from Applehans. #GoLobos

I was just looking at the second half of UNM's MWC schedule and it's brutal! Not only do they have road games at Utah St., SDSU, Boise, Nevada, and Wyo but they only have Fresno and San Jose once each this season. The bright side is there's plenty of chances for Q1 wins! #GoLobos

The big difference between this year's Lobo team and last seasons is on defense. Nelly and JT are quicker and longer than Udeze and Alleck inside. Not many bigs are going to catch those no look passes that AJ does from Dent as they have a chemistry that can't be taught. #GoLobos

Look at the shooting % for House and Mash. I knew they were pretty low but didn't realize that they were both under 38% from the field for the entire season. I know the injuries had plenty to do with it but better shot selection and ball distribution is badly needed. #GoLobos

@GeoffGrammer After the last AFA score, UNM was trying to inbound the ball and the AFA coach walked onto the court, did not have a player at the scorers table and managed to stop the inbound without a timeout, he should have been teed up for bench interference.

Speaking of the UNLV rivalry this is the Alb Journal box score of UNM's win at UNLV in 1978. I put this at or near the top of the biggest wins in UNM history as UNLV was undefeated, coming off a final 4, and had a 72 game home court winning streak. #GoLobos #MakeItHappen
