A few thoughts on @GoBrightline … a thread 🧵 1. As I’ve already said, it’s impressive. Large loading gauge, running on own tracks and having full control of stations helps. Nice to see winged headrests on seats and large fold down tables. Certainly comparable to @LumoTravel !

A gruelling two hour road section test complete with @Dan3942 driving and me navigating as the first part of @gonortheast ’s participation with our Voyager coach in this year’s @UKCoachRally here in sunny Blackpool. Now it’s cleaning time, and tomorrow we have the driving tests!

Sad to learn that former Reading Buses colleague Alex Shepherd lost her battle with a rare form of cancer today aged just 22. Thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends. Thanks to those, in true RB family spirit, who rallied to raise funds for her treatment. RIP Alex x

Today’s @Beamish_Museum Northern General bus depot opening also saw the North East Bus Preservation Trust’s Routemaster 2099 back on the road after 5 years. Our Consett depot team proudly assisted with this and the bus will participate in some @gonortheast activities during 2020.

No @ImberbusUK today this year, sadly, but instead it’s been great to get out on the road and join our @gonortheast team driving on the sizeable Metro replacment service we’re operating this weekend 🚌 🚇A good experience to see the current Covid arrangements in action too 👍🏼
