It was exactly 50 years ago today that route 33 was introduced along Tilehurst Road to Turnham's Farm to serve the expanding areas of housing. Bus 701 spent it's last full day in service on the route in February 2008.

On board the first vehicle under Cow Lane bridge! The difference in height from the old bridge is quite notable. The diverted traffic should help reduce congestion that affects route 17.
