I applaud the actions of our government both state and federal in trying to deal with this fire disaster as best they can. We should stop kicking them and concentrate on supporting the real heros, those on the ground dealing with the disaster on the front line.

It is amazing to me how many people who live and/or work in the racing ‘bubble’ have absolutely no perception how the sport is perceived by the general public. As an industry if we dont start listening we will start hurting. We must be strong and bold and build for the future.

Just watched South Australian premier Peter Malinauskas get interviewed on @FOXFOOTY he looks and sounds like a really good bloke. I have no idea if he is doing a good or bad job, but he has certainly got right behind Gather Round, he’s been everywhere. It’s very refreshing

To me the most obvious thing to come out of @FlemingtonVRC ‘rapid racing’ is how good it is to have shorter breaks between races, 30min should become the industry norm.

This week I have lost a mentor, confidant and very dear loyal friend. Micheal, Sue, Saskia and I and our families travel together, party together, commiserate together and have had some of life’s great experiences together. Now we morn the loss of MG together. RIP Micheal.

The rules of racing in Aus should be immediately changed so as any trainer charged with a serious offence (a dq offence as opposed to suspension)should be stood down immediately they are charged. The brand damage the industry is suffering is unsustainable.

We are fortunate in Victoria to have @MelbRacingClub and @FlemingtonVRC who have invested in the tracks. So even after the massive rain event we had this week we got to see G1 racing on a perfect deck today as we did with the Cup a few years back. #priorities 👏

I keep waiting for Team Williams to strike form this Spring, but apart from the odd good run, they seem to be struggling big time! Just 6 winners in 2019 by my count & 3 winners from 66 runners in metro races. Back to start of 2018/2019 season - 6 winners from 104 metro runners.
