Does this work? Been seeing indies reposting this. Here's a bunch of screenshots from immersive sim CORE DECAY, did some level design on this.
Keep seeing these posts, so might as well test it.
Some Level design stuff I did for Core Decay a while back. Some layout, setdressing and lighting. Built a little part of Brussels. Which isn't so apparent from these images. But there's brick and Brussels inspired buildings I assure you.
Got laid of today after 1 1/2 good years. Have a lot of experience working level design on puzzle games and immersive sims if anyone is in need of a level designer.

I remember them going down to the lifestream where they explicitly say that it's dying due to Shinras activities. Was a pretty big moment in the game.
One more for posterity. Some moody areas I created for CORE DECAY earlier this year.
I like how the sewers turned out. Everyone loves a sewer level, just ask Civvie.

It does look slightly dissapointing that you don't get to actually fly anywhere in your ship. Seems like it'd mostly fast travelling, and I was kinda hoping for this whole Elite Dangerous (light) meets Bethesda. Seems it's more Outer Worlds with a huge budget.
A variety of different locales from a city level in CORE DECAY. Helped create these enviroments earlier this year.
One of the places is a hotel, I wonder which.

Lighting and post processing is a big part of CORE DECAYs look.
Atmospheric colored fog helps create the mood. These things were usually adjusted before we level designers started lighting the scene. It made it easy to make areas look great.

Some more enviroments i created earlier this year for Core Decay. The start of a level set in Brussels. Very dense area with lots of variety in locales. Open ended design where the player has a lot of options.

Here's some more enviroments I made for Ivar Hills Core Decay.
This is the exterior and interior of a bank, that you can choose to sneak through, if you have a hacking tool or find the password.
@UweBollocks
Currently I'm thinking about: "Take to the sea!" a lot. But a favorite clip is Tobias talking to Carl Wathers about acting, but Weathers just talks about how to get a cheap meal.
Some Core Decay screens. Designed and built these areas earlier this year.
In best immersive sim style you get a wide variety of options when tackling a task. Here I chose to infiltrate a guarded bank office.

Start of Silent Hill Downpour. A tree is sorta blocking the road leading away from Silent Hill. He refuses to walk over the tree and instead wall hugs past a waterfall and goes to the creepy haunted town.

No company will allow you to make a game in a franchise that they own, and just to make it worse, it's a sequel. Should be obvious that they would eat you alive.
@DaveOshry
Just remember not reading up on it a lot, getting my spaceship and realizing I wasn't allowed to fly anywhere, then my I just slowly lost interest until I gave up 20 hours in.
This is an overview of the starting area in our Brussels level in CORE DECAY.
This is an enviroment I designed and built earlier this year. As it is now, you meet a guy who let's you choose between three loadouts.
Sadly none of the options is a GEP Gun.
A couple of CORE DECAY images from the very first room of the game. Helped create this area some time last year.
A secret arctic base. As always, lots of mood and opportunities for finding your own solutions to problems, immersive sim style.

Even more depressing that they bought the team behind Firewatch, who was a working on new game, that will now never be finished because that's how valve operates.
Some more screenshots of enviroments I created for Ivar Hills Core Decay. It's a bit of focus, but there's a pretty cool area near the waterfront in our Brussels level, where police are barricading an area where a traffic accident happened.

They do replace. Not everyone knows how to emulate games. Would be nice if the games were made availble for purchase. Kinda wild that we can buy Mr Mosquito and not Silent Hill 2 or Resident Evil 2.

My girlfriend thinks it looks like abstract art when viewed like this.

I feel like it could have worked if you could fly from planet to planet. You could get distress signals and space anomalied and stuff to explore on your way. Instead the game seems like it wants you off your ship as fast as possible. It's fine, but could have been my dream game.
Working on my newly started game: Häxenfeld. Been playing around with some of the new modeling tools in UE5 using a bunch of Hexen textures. Making progress, got the full layout in my head, so just need some time!

I'm pretty sure he's explained his crimes in great details in the past and potentially made a guide on how to be a pimp. Hasn't exactly been subtle about this stuff.
@gamedevdotcom
That's a shame, game was a little rough around the edges but it also had something. I really wanted to see them learn from their mistakes and doing a really cool sequel. But that's not how we roll :/.
@Visuwyg
I remember Civilization 2 being borderline unplayable, because it gets slower and slower after each turn. Game was so slow after an hour that it would require the patient of a saint to achieve anything.

German sentence: "Ich habe musik gehört".
English 1:1 translation: "I have music heard".
That would be absolutely fantastic.
@Fightincowboy
Game very suddenly turned into the villain of the week after getting hyped for a while. Maybe peoplr were caught off guard when thet realized it was an actual sequel to Dragons Dogma?
@KZXcellent
You most certainly can flesh a combat system out in that run time. Just look at Devil May Cry 1 and 3. Not that Senua need to match those at all.
Another picture of an enviroment I helped create for Core Decay. An optional Hotel area that houses useful information and a secret alternate route to progress the level.

Loving traditional American values seems like a good legal defence. That makes it okay to commit crimes, perhaps he should consider robbing a bank.
Some enviroments I created for Ivar Hills Core Decay earlier this year. The starting area where you arrive with a helicopter 🚁 and the backroom of a doctors office where they install cybernetic implants.
A map of a Bank Office area I created for CORE DECAY earlier this year. Shows how our areas are open ended. There´s a lot of different entry points that gives you a lot of options on how to tackle this area.
Just completed Mundaun, the last parts in the black mountain are some of the coolest stuff I've seen in a while. I also love the story, takes some really nice and well thought out turns, best game of 2021 so far.

Just wanted to share this piece by Ivar Hill, director on Core Decay:
He describes the processes we, the level design team, used when we worked on the game until the january event.
Might be insightful to those interested.
@posaidwhat
It has been flopping in cinemas, I think. Probably not a bad idea to get it to streaming, before releasing a sequel. If people get to see the first one they are more inclined to see the next one. Still haven't seen it myself, considering it but have heard mixed stuff.
@BluSatire
Must be sad to live a life where a game like Starfield is offensive enough to make your blood boil. Must be a life of being constantly outraged.
@GenePark
@Seanfucious
Tbh, that's what made me a fan. It was so exciting to try all the games when I discovered them. Couple of years before X released.
@IGN
Not a fan of the change in tone, but i will give it the benefit of the doubt. Just wished the original was made available as well, if they are making substantial changes to the atmosphere.
@DreddSnail
Homecoming and Downpour suck for a variety of reasons that isn't exclusively tied to the combat. The combat also kind sucks, but mostly because it's jank. All Silent Hill games were action packed and you always had ammo enough to kill everything twice over :p.
@spiderwebsoft
@vg_oftheday
What´s the alternative, the guy paints a picture no one sees or records music no one hears, is that better? You can´t stop creative people, they will create useless crap and they will enjoy it, and that´s fine.

Well, original Dragons Dogma was about travelling. It was dangerous and not just something you did. Hence why fast travelling is hard earned.

Det ville også være for galt, men nu er der heller aldrig nogen der har foreslået at der skal udføres stripshows foran små børn.
Worked with aDaya for a long time, he does some truly stellar work. Lots of cool 3D and very useful textures. Made a lot of cool enviroments with his stuff.
Hey people, unfortunately I've been laid off from 3DRealms. But that also means I'm open for a job application for 3D modelling, texturing, and Level design!
Saddened to say that I was let go from

today, so will be looking for work effective immediately. If anyone knows of any level design roles either fully remote or London / south east UK then please hit me up! 🙏
