Something else I found while digging up the unused chapter image. At one point I was planning to add a hint system to the book. Details forgotten but one of the reasons I ditched it was b/c I couldn't get a good metaphor going. Hook with/without worm almost worked.

My first GDC was 20 years ago. The IGF has been a guiding light for me for so long that my release schedule calculus is based on the IGF submission date. Five noms for Obra Dinn feels like a peculiarly amazing dream. I'm still not sure it's real.

Obra Dinn is a very different game from Papers Please. The 1-bit low resolution style won't be for everyone. To reach the good ending is more difficult than you might expect. If you buy it and you're unhappy with it, request a refund. No hard feelings.

The game will randomly select the inspector's gender when you start (male or female). This affects 3 lines of voiced dialog in the opening audio and nothing else. If you don't like the selection, delete the profile and start a new game - it will alternate to the other gender.
